This is a literary analysis paper. You will need to read criticism about the pieces you chose to analyze and incorporate that research into your analysis. Select one or two pieces of American Literature from after 1865. Read it carefully, making notes who authored the piece, who the intended audience is, and what the author is saying to the audience.
