In this module we explore deeply and discuss how assessment and feedback can be used to facilitate learning in meaningful ways for the learner. Continuing with our underpinning philosophy that teachers/educators are facilitators of learning who work within the complex realities of personal, professional, institutional, national and international contexts we explore issues of learning in different contexts. The concepts of leadership in education and also the gaining of professional development as an on-going process should be debated. The role of an educator is to enable the development of their students, through a critically reflexive understanding of their (both the students and teachers) experiences of learning and teaching. To do this, we journey together through the module sharing our thoughts, experiences and activities as a community of learners. There are times when we will continue to be pushed out of our ‘comfort zones’ and where we feel uncomfortable and unhappy with our learning. This is part of the learning process and something that students may feel as they undertake learning with us. The important thing is to unpick (reflect) on why we feel this way and find explanations from the theory that help you make sense of these situations. these can be recorded as reflections that can be used in the evidence i should submit for this assessment at the end of the assignment. Remember to link any learning to the UKPSF.
