Because the course revolves around critical thinking and research, all of the steps in the process are required for successful completion of the course. Students must choose one of the following topics:(this is my notes from the teacher to follow please every important notes)First, choose one of the above topics and then narrow the focus. For example, if you choose number eight, what compulsive disorder will you examine? If number seven appeals to you, will you deal with gay parenting, working mothers, stay at home dads? Your final topic must be narrow enough so that you can say something substantive about it. We will discuss all of the topics listed above. Feel free to choose something we discuss in class or something else as long as it applies to the general overall topic.The course is a process, and each part of the process counts for a total of sixty per cent of the final grade. Make sure that you have an interest in the topic because you will be studying it for the remainder of the semester. Because you will be graded on each section, you will not be able to change your topic. T0 Other dates will be announced throughout the semester. Your first assignment will be to write one substantial paragraph, stating and explaining your interest on one of the general topics. This will be due on Monday, May 18, 2020. You will hear from me by May 20, either approving the topic or not. Then on Wednesday 27, 2020, you will submit a topic and thesis sentence. Once these are approved, you will NOT be allowed to change your narrowed topic. You will continue working on it for the remainder of the semester. You will be allowed to change your thesis because your research may change your mind about your thesis.
