Outline a unique science-driven film in the sci-fi genre that relates to one of the major topics we covered in class: Physical Sciences, Geology, Geography, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science. To submit (30 points): Summary of the plot (~1 page) Description of the characters – at least one must be a scientist (in the field of your choice) (~1-2 pages) Make sure to clearly define the scientist’s credentials and skillset (what higher degree do they have and in what; what is their research speciality?) Reflection on the balance of science and fiction/entertainment you would include in your film (in terms of theory, terminology, accurate portrayal of science and scientists); keep in mind budget, audience and access to information or resources. (~1 page) Find an appropriate science consultant for your film. Include consultant’s credentials- degree, affiliated university, most recent research (cite a recently published paper) and contact information Include three questions you would ask them to improve accuracy in your film Draft a brief correspondence email for initial contact. How would you invite them to be a science consultant? Make sure to be specific with the help that you need, and why you think they are the right person to do it. Script of dialogue (~3 minutes worth) during a scene involving the scientific theme of the film (use appropriate language/terms/jargon and science!)
