An often-overlooked aspect of the records inventory process is the human element – the interaction between those conducting the inventory and those responsible for the records being examined. Describe what you believe are the ‘human’ issues that must be considered when planning and actually conducting an inventory. Identify the types of problems that may be encountered if the human dimension is not addressed satisfactorily. Describe the impact these problems may have in the short term, on the success of the inventory process, and in the longer term, on subsequent records management program activities.
