Use the Plagiarism.org site to answer the following questions.
1. Use your own words to write a summary paragraph of plagiarism. Include a college-level definition and description of plagiarism. Be sure to describe situations that typically tempt students to plagiarize.
2. Look at the “Ask the Experts” section of this site. Find a question that intrigues and tell why the situation is interesting. Your explanation should be at least a solid one paragraph response that discusses the question at length. Things to consider: Do you agree with the answer provided by plagiarism.org? Have you been in a similar situation? How was the problem resolved?
3. In the Psychology Today article, find 2 key points made by the author and write a college-level paragraph for each that describes why you agree or disagree with the author. In addition, describe your understanding of the following statement:
“A college degree is supposed to mean something. It means that you’ve gone through the paces and done your share of research, written your share of term papers and exams, and that you know have mastered the skills commensurate with your degree.” Carson, Shelley H. “Plagiarism and Its Effect on Creative Work.” Psychology Today: Health, Help, Happiness Find a Therapist.
