The ideas here function more as summary because they focus solely on the literature. The literature is the evidence for your argument. The goal here is to move beyond the literature to create analysis (what do character actions and behaviors reveal and mean?). Right now, the thesis statement needs work to be more specific to name the risk your argument seeks to prove about undocumented immigrants. I have a few ideas to help strengthen your overall argument. The thesis needs more specificity, especially with naming the subject, but it can definitely work since you have already identified aspects of imagery and irony. Use the Introduction to explore the subject of your essay. Move beyond the literature to state the larger subject. Look to the body paragraphs to identify the aspects. Expand the body paragraphs to explore each aspect. What is the impact? Develop a specific thesis statement that states what you plan to argue, how (specific aspects) and why ( significance). Each body paragraph should work to reinforce the overall argument.
