For the purpose of this paper:

This assignment is for you to describe a significant aspect of public health history and how that discovery/ foundational theory has impacted your daily life. Also, you will be asked to discuss the three core functions of public health as well as elaborate on the one core function that is most relevant for you and linkage to the 10 Essential Services.

Public Health History:

Describe a significant aspect of public health history – e.g., scientific awareness, insight, formation of a theory (germ theory).
Describe how this aspect in public health history has impacted your daily life.
Describe how this aspect in public health history has impacted your local community.
Public Health Core Functions and 10 Essential Services:

Describe the three public health core functions.
Describe how the public health core functions have helped to shape the philosophy and values of public health.
Identify the public health core function that is most intriguing or relevant for you; please elaborate why.
Using the framework provided in lesson two, describe the essential services and competencies that are linked to the core function of your choice.
Summary:
