Is the hook successful to capture your attention? Does the introduction clearly summarize the reading by introducing the author and the article? Is the thesis effective (e.g. directly answers research question, critiques the reading, has 3 clear points, specific and concise, has a parallel structure, last sentence on intro)?   Do supporting details provide evidence/example from the reading to support the claim? Are the evidence and examples properly explained to prove effectiveness of the argument? Is your peer’s argument/claim consistent throughout the essay? (e.g. are there generalizations, repetition, irrelevant ideas, and vague statements?)    Is there at least one peer reviewed secondary source relevant to the argument? Is the cover page correctly formatted? Is the references page correctly formatted?   Does the essay have a formal tone and diction? Do you find any run-ons, comma splices, sentence fragments, or verb tense errors? (identify at least one error of each if there’s any, or comment on the strength)
