Write a research paper on the Greek mythology of the sea includes a complex pantheon of gods and other supernatural creatures.

1). Imagine that you were designing a study. You have a solid plan to draw your sample (using probability methods, of course) and gigantic grant to fund the whole project. What are the key variables that you intend to study? More specifically, what is the primary independent variable, and the primary dependent variable, and what the key control variables do you need to measure and include? In answering the question, you should walk me through the important stages of measurement ranging from conceptualization to operationalization of variables. Additionally, iIFinally, how will you know if your measures are reliable and valid? How will you test that empirically?
• What is “Karl Polanyi’s Paradox”? What are “negative externalities”? And what are “global commodity chains”? What are examples of each within the global culture of capitalism?
• What are the basic questions to ask about patterns of disease at any point in time and space?
• Describe the relationships between (1) culture and disease; (2) cities and disease; (3) environmental change and disease; and (4) human ecology and disease.
• What defines a “signature disease” of a specific historical time and pattern of geographic connections? How is Covid-19 an example of a signature disease?
• What are arguments–including the relevance of “Karl Polanyi’s Paradox”, “global commodity chains,” and “negative externalities”– for healthcare as a global public good (and as a human right), as opposed to healthcare as an individual, commodified choice?

Book Review Guidelines and
Overview: Your book review should be written in the style of a review found in
Contemporary Sociology: A Journal of Reviews, which you can find in “E-Journals” from the SU Library website. Your review should be between 1,000 and 1,500 words.
It should contain the following parts:
• Introduction (100-200 words, 15 points)
• Synopsis of book (300-400 words, 30 points)
• Analysis (500-700 words, 50 points)
• Conclusion (100-200 words, 15 points)
• References (not included in word count) and appropriate Formatting (10 points)
The Introduction should:
• Contain a general description of the topic/problem that the book deals with
• Explain why the work is timely and relevant
• Draw your reader in so that they want to continue reading your review
The Synopsis should:
• Summarize the book’s argument
• Discuss the method(s) used in the book to collect data
• Use a short quote from the author, if available, that explains very clearly why the book was written. If a quote isn’t available, you should summarize why you think the book was written
• Talk briefly about the author(s). What are their qualifications and expertise?
• Discuss the organization of the book, and most significant findings. Remember, this is a work of non-fiction. You aren’t “giving away the ending”, there are no “spoiler alerts”. People read book reviews to decide if reading the entire book is worth their valuable time or not. Help them figure that out.
The Analysis should:
• Be the longest section of your review
• Identify what you think the greatest strength of the book is. Pick one, and explain it in more detail, using examples from the book.
• Pick up to two more minor strengths and explain them
• Identify what you think the largest weakness of the book is. Pick one, and explain it in more detail. How might the author(s) have done a better job dealing with the weakness you’ve described?
• Pick up to two more minor weaknesses and explain them.
Write an argumentive essay on whether should Canada develop a more aggressive target for the 2020 meeting of the UNFCCC?
Research Question: Should Canada develop a more aggressive target for the 2020 meeting of the UNFCCC?
Climate change has rapidly started to spread around the world and now, we feel it at our doorsteps. Our everyday life is slowly being affected by climate change, whether in terms of our transportation, drastic change of weather, or through effecting our economy. Our economy is very dependent on fossil fuel, which contradicts our bigger goal, which is to reduce our emissions and switch to different sources of energy, like wind or solar systems. Some of the causes of this are pollution and people not caring for the environment such as idling. The rest of the blame falls on the government for their lack of action and dedication.
Thesis
My thesis will be based on the argument that Canada definitely needs to peruse an aggressive climate plan in order to not only meet the UNFCCC targets, but to slowly transition its energy and transportation from fossil to other sources. It will be crucial for Canada to be able to efficiently transition from fossil fuel to finding a more suitable and environmental friendly energy source. In my essay I will discuss why Canada needs to set a more aggressive goal in UNFCCC and make up for pulling out of the Kyoto protocol, removing the necessity to have an economy based on fossil, so we can ensure a better future for all the future generation in Canada.

This is a three-page essay focused on one or two scenes. Craft a thesis on a select scene or two from Akira that draws from the secondary works by Allison or Napier. Develop your essay by describing and analyzing how the anime-as-media communicates the thesis you choose. Think about drawing style, lighting, color, music, voice, editing, mise-en-scène, camera angles and style, as well as story. Ask yourself: how is the story being told audio-visually? And then communicate/analyze that. Have a conclusion that is neither too big nor too small. This assignment is designed to get you analyzing anime as media, while also being able to think about historical and theoretical ideas with a concrete example. Focus on mastering what we’re covering in class. Outside research is not required.
List your name, class name, assignment #1, and date single-spaced in upper left-hand corner. Give your assignment a title (not “Assignment #1)—center it on the first page. DO NOT WASTE your first paragraph with generic statements about “Japanese culture” or “popular culture”—dive right in with specific, concrete ideas and a description of what you’re going to analyze and why. 12 pt font, regular one-inch margins. Yes, it ok if you go on to the 4th page, but not ok to go on the 5th page.
For context and to support your assertions, you must cite at least one work we’ve read: either Napier or Allison. Please use Turabian notes-bibliography citation system for citing sources. Include the anime. This means that you will have a bibliography at the end, left-justified, with the sources listed properly; and references will be in footnotes.
For the guide to citing multimedia sources (i.e. the version of Akira you are citing), see Purdue’s OWL (Online Writing Lab) guide.
From OWL: “If you are citing a video from an online service, such as YouTube, you can follow the general multimedia guidelines, but you must include the URL. The medium for any sort of streaming video where the file type is not necessarily clear or relevant can be cited simply as “video”.
The footnote would look like this: 1. Alejandra Ortega, “Grammar: Active and Passive Voice,” Purdue OWL, February 1, 2019, video, 4:22, http://youtu.be/GEP-8lFTKKg.
The bibliography would look like this: Ortega, Alejandra. “Grammar: Active and Passive Voice.” Purdue OWL. February 1, 2019. Video, 4:22. http://youtu.be/GEP-8lFTKKg .
Phase 3 – Modules 7-8 (includes revisions to Phase 2 based on the instructor’s feedback)
Strategic analysis, choices, impact, and measurement o
Product-positioning map
o Evaluation of strategies and objectives to achieve most favorable market position o
Description of how you would implement your strategies o Milestones (steps for
each major initiative with their timelines
o Specific results you want to achieve including market, financial, and product or service goals
o Financial projection (minimum three years) o Presentation with audio – see below
o Executive summary – see below
Presentation with audio
The final submission for your project includes developing a PowerPoint presentation with
embedded audio files. Each slide must contain an audio file in which you offer insight to the
material in the slide and key points the professor should take away from the visual
information in the PowerPoint. You should minimize repeating points made in the slide other
than emphasizing important components. To put this simply, please do not read the slides
verbatim but make sure to add value to what is presented on the slide to improve the
understanding of your work. The presentation with audio is a significant component of the
final submission, so please makes sure to offer your best work, speak clearly, emphasize the
strategic implications of your work, and engage the viewer.
Executive summary (compiled with concise and critical elements from the detailed work)
While done as a last step, this goes in front of the report, after the index. A final and
all compassing analysis is presented, along with the recommendations that you would
make to the firm’s board of directors. This includes identifying what you recommend, and
briefly outlining alternatives considered, key implementation steps, and the impact of the
implementation on the company’s performance and competitive position.
