Synthesis Essay – Research proposal and basic argument essay already included. Need them reworked into a Synthesis Argument, or an Argument with Sources. The synthesis argument has several components, the first of which—the research proposal and research question– we will work on this week.
Basically, a synthesis essay requires you to make an objective (third person) argument and incorporate sources correctly into your paper. This is a mini-research essay. You will have to include three–and only three–sources into your paper. In fact, if you re-work your Basic Argument (Essay 2), you can meet the requirements of this essay without starting from scratch.
Looking at significant commodities featured in this course, what would you argue is the most important in shaping early American history and why? What makes that commodity the most significant above all others? Be sure to present a clear thesis and support it with cited evidence from both primary and secondary sources from the class.
Describe what the “law of one price” implies and the theory behind it. What are the arguments for why it should hold, and what are the arguments against? What have empirical studies found, does it hold?
The Excelfile received together with this instruction contains information about the price of the Bookcase BILLY from Ikea in 20 different countries. Complement this data set with exchange rates for January or February 2018 (exact date is not important for the purpose of this assignment).
