Explain how the issue is significant. Is the problem important enough to need further understanding?

Persuasive Essay Topic Proposal
In the coming weeks, you will research and write a persuasive essay on a topic that has importance to a specific place and issue, and you will take a position on this issue with the purpose of persuading your audience. For this discussion assignment, you will choose your persuasive essay topic. You may choose to continue writing about the work place you identified in Week 1, but you will need to narrow the general topic to include a problem that needs to be addressed, OR you may choose to write about a different place.

Choose one of the following approaches:

Your topic could build from the place or community you wrote about in your narrative essay. You will want to find a problem to address associated with that place and explore either the problems, causes, or solutions.
You may select an issue that is important to your community, city, or state. The issue you select should be important to the place and people. For example, you may want to address the causes of a specific type of problem that affects an area or a group of people where you live, or you may want to offer a solution to the problem.
Example topics:

beach erosion in a specific town
littering or pollution at a specific location
urban gardening in a specific city
walk ways or bike ways in a specific town
health care inequities in a specific state
organic or farm-fresh produce availability in a specific community
Assignment Requirements:

In your response, include the following information:

Give the topic or issue you will research.
Give the place (community, city, state) and the people affected.
Explain how the issue is problematic. Can reasonable people agree or disagree about the concern?
Explain how the issue is significant. Is the problem important enough to need further understanding?
Explain why the issue interests you personally. Do you have personal concerns

Why is understanding a child’s developmental milestones so important, especially communication, social, and emotional development?

The discussion assignment provides a forum to discuss the relevant topics for this week based on the course competencies covered. For this assignment make sure to answer all questions by the due date assigned. Provide a detailed response directly in the Discussion Area. Do not use attached documents.

To support your work, make sure to utilize your course and text readings. When asked, also utilize outside sources. As in all assignments, make sure to cite and provide references for your sources utilizing APA format.

Developmental milestones
One of the measurements that can be used to determine a child’s developmental progression is to compare the child to the typical developmental milestones. Some examples of developmental milestones are when an infant first sits up, crawls, and walks. There are also developmental milestones for communication, emotional, and social development. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) provides some extensive information on developmental milestones for infants and young children. (Hint: Type “CDC: Developmental Milestones” into your preferred search engine.)

Describe how you went through each step of the methodology to create your algorithm.

Algorithms appear almost everywhere in life. For example, a store clerk uses an algorithm with tasks such as scanning items, bagging groceries, and accepting your payment. Other algorithms, such as those that make up computer operating systems, are much more complex. In general, the goal of algorithm design is to complete a job in fewer steps. From what you have learned in the course, use critical thinking to create your own algorithm to complete a computing task. You can use C++, Java, or Python3 to create your algorithm.

Tips:

Remove unwanted comments.
Use proper logic.
Use fast calculating iterations.
Have a clear plan before creating the algorithm.
Make it small.
Make it efficient.
For your Word Document

There are four steps to algorithm methodology. In a 3-4 page paper, discuss your algorithm design in relation to these four steps. Describe how you went through each step of the methodology to create your algorithm.

Your paper should be 3-4 pages in length (excluding the cover page and references, which are required) and formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA (Links to an external site.). Be sure to discuss and reference concepts taken from the textbook and relevant research. You must include a minimum of three credible, academic or professional references. Review the grading rubric to see how you will be graded for this assignment.

Create a zip file that includes all three requirements and upload that zip file for grading.

Gender Roles, Ideals and Relationships
Social and Economic Structures
Religious or Ethical Beliefs
Technological or Cultural Innovations
The purpose of this assignment is to prepare you for your Final Project by guiding you through the research and writing process. To do so, you will first select the two societies or civilizations you would like to examine in your Week 5 Final Project, and then complete the HIS103 project prep temp (attached file)

using research compiled on these societies. Refer to the HIS103 Research Guide: Library Resources and Primary Sources for help selecting appropriate sources. You may also want to review the HIS103 Final Project Help Sheet (attached file) prior to completing this assignment. Keep in mind that the Ashford Writing Center and Ashford University Library have many additional sources available to you, which you are also encouraged to explore.

Identify the societies you will compare and contrast in the Final Project.
Identify three of the following categories (i.e., Gender Roles, Ideals and Relationships, Social and Economic Structures, Religious or Ethical Beliefs, Technological or Cultural Innovations) you would like to examine within the societies you chose for your Final Project.
Develop your preliminary thesis statement for your Final Project.
Establish the central issue or perspective for your project to give clear direction and purpose for the project. Use a Thesis Generator for Writing an Argumentative Thesis https://writingcenter.ashford.edu/thesis-generator?_ga=2.150202995.45211087.1582135235-2054810321.1579684177

Discuss the rhetorical techniques—voicing, tone, imagery, symbolism, rhetorical appeals, etc.—that the authors of the two works use.

1.Determine the main theme of -You Should Have Been a Boy!-(http://users.nerdland.net/zonga/08stanton.pdf)

2. Go back through the assigned readings to find 1 short story or poem (Please see attached list) that you think deals with a similar theme. Be creative when figuring out shared themes—there may be some interesting ones that are not immediately obvious because of the difference in forms.
3. Discuss the rhetorical techniques—voicing, tone, imagery, symbolism, rhetorical appeals, etc.—that the authors of the two works use. Do they use similar rhetorical techniques?
4. How do the rhetorical techniques used and the form (essay, short fiction, or poetry) seem to affect the way the theme is addressed?

Identify any state or local laws and regulations with which your agency is required to comply that relate to the ongoing competency of personnel in the affected area.

Consider the scenario you already selected in Unit I for your course project:

Considering Malpractice (p. 7) or
EMT Response and Motor Vehicle Law (p. 13).
Continuing as the legal aide, you are now asked to prepare a summary and review of the process the organization has for determining competency at the time the employee in the scenario was hired and in an ongoing manner, which is typically an annual evaluation.

As this case is hypothetical, you will use a current or former organization where you were employed as the basis for the organization of the subject’s employment. If you do not have current or former experience in an emergency medical services (EMS) organization, you may research and contact an EMS agency of your choosing to help answer the questions.

You should identify specifically those components that speak to the issues in the scenario you selected. Your paper should include a summary of the following:

The specific components of the application and hiring process used to determine whether the employee met the minimum performance standards that play a role in the case.
Summarize the steps taken by the organization to ensure ongoing competency in the areas of performance questioned in the scenario.
Identify any state or local laws and regulations with which your agency is required to comply that relate to the ongoing competency of personnel in the affected area.
What evaluation instruments does the organization use to measure competence in the affected area?
If a deficiency is identified at any point in the employment of the individual, what types of remediation efforts would be made to bring the employee into compliance?

Discuss the difference between complicity and vicarious liability.

1. Discuss the difference between complicity and vicarious liability. Describe which crimes might involve complicity and which crimes might involve vicarious liability. Provide 2 examples.

2. Compare and contrast accomplices and accessories. Why are accessories punished less severely than accomplices? Do you agree with this practice? Why or why not?

3. Accomplices and co-conspirators are often confused but are two completely different crimes. Explain the difference and provide an example.

4. In what ways do traditional parental responsibility statutes differ from vicarious liability? Why do we have vicarious liability statutes? Which do you think functions better: parental responsibility statutes or vicarious liability? Provide an example to support your argument.
