Discuss how assessment and feedback can be used to facilitate learning in meaningful ways for the learner.

In this module we explore deeply and discuss how assessment and feedback can be used to facilitate learning in meaningful ways for the learner. Continuing with our underpinning philosophy that teachers/educators are facilitators of learning who work within the complex realities of personal, professional, institutional, national and international contexts we explore issues of learning in different contexts. The concepts of leadership in education and also the gaining of professional development as an on-going process should be debated. The role of an educator is to enable the development of their students, through a critically reflexive understanding of their (both the students and teachers) experiences of learning and teaching. To do this, we journey together through the module sharing our thoughts, experiences and activities as a community of learners. There are times when we will continue to be pushed out of our ‘comfort zones’ and where we feel uncomfortable and unhappy with our learning. This is part of the learning process and something that students may feel as they undertake learning with us. The important thing is to unpick (reflect) on why we feel this way and find explanations from the theory that help you make sense of these situations. these can be recorded as reflections that can be used in the evidence i should submit for this assessment at the end of the assignment. Remember to link any learning to the UKPSF.

Explain how and why people generally lose their ability to focus on nearby things as they get older, and the correction for this.

Make sure to include topics that are related to what we’re learning in the optics course — for example, show in some detail how the refraction equation is used to determine the path of light inside the eye for a distant source of light. Include explanations of what it means to be near-sighted or far-sighted, using equations and diagrams. Explain how eyeglasses correct for these two types of deficiencies. Also explain how and why people generally lose their ability to focus on nearby things as they get older, and the correction for this. There are various ways to diagnose the optical properties and deficiencies of the eye, and you could explain some of them (again, making contact with a quantitative treatment based on what we’ve been learning in the course.)

To what extent does money and access to resources determine the characters’ quality of life?

1 What is the role of colonialism in this text? That is, while India is no longer under colonial rule, how is the presence of the old colonial power, Britain, still felt through the lives of these characters? 2 In what ways is The God of Small Things a political text, one that makes a statement about the nature of power in that society? 3 Explore how one or more characters’ “race” or “color” affect their lives. 4 To what extent does money and access to resources determine the characters’ quality of life? 5 Who is Velutha and what, if anything, does he symbolize in this complex text? 6 How does the gender of two characters in separate texts play a role in the challenges they face in the society depicted by two authors?

Demonstrate your ability to support a thesis statement and use outside sources in a clear, well-organized essay.

Advice: Find a way to break your larger issue down into a few key aspects which you can tackle in your body paragraphs. A good rule of thumb is that each body paragraph should make reference to one outside text as support (this can be a quote, paraphrase, reference to statistics, etc.). Your conclusion paragraph will synthesize your sources and sum up your feelings on the subject. Purpose: Demonstrate your ability to support a thesis statement and use outside sources in a clear, well-organized essay. Audience and Style: Your audience is educated adults. Avoid slang, jargon, or overly informal writing.
