How do Prahalad and Hart believe this conflict of interests can be transformed into a pursuit of the interest of all?

Please read T. Donaldson’s “Values in Tension, Ethics Away from Home.” pp 567-5761. Donaldson goes out of his way to insist that both relativism and absolutism are unacceptable in international business ethics. Why?Donaldson professes a kind of moral universalism, and he believes that it is grounded in three core values: respect for human dignity, respect for basic rights and good citizenship. He claims that these values are widely accepted around the world.2. Look at Table 1. pp. 571 How are these core values expressed in the table? Where is there common ground according to Donaldson? Where might be possible sources of tension?3. Consider the case of employees in India who are given the opportunity for their children to be employed by their company. Is this policy consistent with his three core values? Why or Why not? 4 To Donaldson’s credit he recognizes that there are conflicts of relative development and conflicts of cultural tradition and he proposes resolutions to these kinds of conflict. One might argue that a careful look at his resolutions shows that Donaldson is actually a relativist. Do you agree with the objection? Why or Why not? Please read C.K, Prahalad and Stuart L Hart ” The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid” pp. 720 and then answer these questions:1. Market capitalism has often been criticized for exploiting the poor, so it comes as a bit of a surprise Prahald’s and Hart’s claim that if MNCs understood the huge opportunities in the markets serving the poorest- those who earn less than $1,500 yearly,(tier 4)- then there would be tremendous commercial success for the MNCs as well as a “lifting of billions of people out of poverty and desperation, averting social decay, political chaos, terrorism and environmental meltdown..”. pp.720-721 Is this too good to be true? Why or why not?2. What is the key to succeeding in tier 4 markets according to Prahalad and Hart? Explain the 4 elements briefly. See pp. 724-7293. How does the Grameen Bank’s policy of microlending support Prahalad’s and Hart”s view MNCs can succeed in tier 4 markets? (See: “Creating Buying Power”pp. 724)4. It is generally assumed that MNCs promote the interests of their shareholders, i.e. their investors, that is, the rich, while NGOs and government protect the poor and the environment. How do Prahalad and Hart believe this conflict of interests can be transformed into a pursuit of the interest of all? Why might one be skeptical that such a transformation can take place?
