How would you advise to get your executives to think this way?

Follow – Up Question One of the biggest challenges in designing DR services and the hot, warm, and cold sites if having a conversation with management about what their priorities are and what they are willing to pay for them. Since disaster means different things to different people, being able to say which disasters and which expectations are available, can convey important details. Consider the following:   We want to survive a total loss of our headquarters with a 5-minute maximum data loss and a 15-minute return to service, but we have a one-week MTTR in the event of a local major volcanic disaster.   How would you advise to get your executives to think this way? How do you ensure that that they are considering all the impacts of an event? For instance, in the above example, how useful is having the backend systems online and available in 15 minutes if the building burned down? How would the users utilize that system?
