Physical Geography Lab Project: Physical Geography of a City.

For you final project, you are going to explore the physical geography of a city. I will be assigning each of you a city from somewhere in the world. You will receive a separate email with your city listed. For each city, you are going to research the information below, and apply what you learned about physical geography to your city. First a few ground rules. This paper will be IN YOUR OWN WORDS!!! ANY copying from the internet, even ONE SENTENCE, will result in an automatic FAIL for this paper. You will receive a “0”. DO NOT COPY from the internet, or your classmates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You will need to do some research, so cite your sources using MLA format. If you do not cite your sources, it is considered CHEATING. Here is a link on how to cite sources in MLA format:https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/ (Links to an external site.)Make sure to answer all parts of all the questions below. You will need to include good descriptions of the science behind these natural processes to get full credit. Please write this like a paper, but break your paper up into the sections listed below.Overview:Where is your city located? Make sure to provide a general description, along with the elevation, latitude and longitude.Introduce us to your city. Tell us a little about it before you dive into its physical geography.Climate: What is the climate of the city? What geographic factors create this climate type? Make sure to discuss:According to the Koppen climate classification system, what is the climate of the city (start with your atlas, and then see if you are correct with some online research)? What patterns would you expect to see from this climate type? The four factors that affect temperature (latitude, altitude, distance from water, and clouds) and their effect on the city’s patterns. The global pressure and wind patterns, which ones affect the city, and how they influence the city (equatorial low, subtropical high, subpolar low, polar high)One other significant factor that affects the weather of the city. Make sure to explain this factor, how it has this effect, and why.Ecosystems and the biosphere: What lifeforms are found around your city? Make sure to discuss:What biome is your city in (start with your atlas, and then see if you are correct with some online research)? Describe this biome, and at least one way the organisms in this biome are connected. Make sure to discuss the relationship between the organisms with as much detail as possible. What is one threatened or endangered species that lives near your city? Describe this species, and what is threatening it. Is there an effort to protect this species? What is being done?Landforms and the Lithospere: Describe the landforms and tectonic activity around your city. Make sure to discuss:What tectonic plate is your city located on? Where on the plate is your city located? What direction is this plate moving? Is you city located near a boundary? If so, which boundary? What type of boundary is it?Discuss a landform near your city. These can include: mountains, valleys, beaches, volcanoes, plains, etc. This landform must be within 100 miles of your city. Explain how this landform was formed. What created this landform and how?Hazards: Discuss a natural hazard near your city (such as earthquakes, storms, flooding etc). Make sure to discuss:What is the hazard? How does it work? Explain the science behind how this hazard is formed. What affect does this hazard have on the city? If you can provide damage estimates, all the better. How do people prepare and deal with this hazard?the city that was given is Tucson, AZ, USA.

Assess the effectiveness of the strategy and predict the outcome if a different strategy had been used.

Applying Influence StrategiesReview the six influence strategies outlined on pages 322–323 of your Organizational Change text. Analyze each of these strategies and apply each to a situation you have personally experienced in the workplace. What was the outcome of this strategy? Assess the effectiveness of the strategy and predict the outcome if a different strategy had been used.

Discuss how the change disrupted the psychological contract that existed in the organization.

Course Project: Part 2Your second course project assignment is due at the end of Unit 7. After reviewing the case study “Ellen Zane: Leading Change at Tufts/NEMC,” complete the following:•Analyze how the organization used structures and systems to deal with environmental uncertainty and complexity.•Identify which types of power were at play within the organization.•Describe how the various stakeholders and departments were impacted.•Discuss how the change disrupted the psychological contract that existed in the organization.•Identify the various conflicts and resistance to change.•Determine whether the change is programmatic, discontinuous, or emergent.•Review pages 319–324 of your Organizational Change text regarding communication and the impact on the change management plan. Analyze Ellen Zane’s communication practices throughout the change management process and synthesize the best practices outlined in the text. Was her communication strategy effective?

Do violet videos games encourage players to become violent in real life?

Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience. . .I.ATTENTION STEP (INTRODUCTION)A. Attention getter – dramatic story, shocking statistics, or example (s).B.Credibility statementC.Listener relevance: (tell us why this topic is significant on a national level and to theaudience.)D.Thesis statementE.Preview statement (need, satisfaction, action)Transition:II.NEED STEPA.Make a definite, concise statement about the problem.B.Use one or more examples explaining and clarifying the problem. Be sure to includeadditional examples, statistical data, testimony, and other forms of support.C.Show the extent and seriousness/harms of the problemD.Make it clear that the problem affects the audienceTransition:III.SATISFACTION STEPA. State whatthe solution is (the key to solve the problem)B.Explain the solution thoroughlyC.Demonstrate with reasoning how the solution meets the needD.Refer to practical experience by supplying examples to prove the proposal/solutionhas worked effectively where it has been tried.E.Forestall opposition by anticipating and answering any objections the might be raisedagainst this proposal.Transition:IV.VISUALIZATION STEPA. Visualization Negative – describe conditions as they will be in the future if thesolution is not carried out (“Without this, we still have bad’)B.Visualization Positive – describe conditions as they will be in the future if solution iscarried out (“With this, we have good”)Transition V. ACTION STEP (Explain what you want the audience to do/or to think)A.B.Transition:VI

Discuss your own thinking about how these differences may relate to differences in the experiences and environments of the individuals involved, and about how they may relate to differences in their traits, e.g., personality or other mental characteristics.

Write about your observations of the effects on individuals of the COVID-19 crisis, and their responses to them. These can be your own or those of others whom you know and have observed. You need not identify the individuals, the intent is to highlight your observations and your thinking about these issues. Focus in your essay on how you think your own, or others’, responses are related to who you/they are as individuals. If possible, describe ways that different individuals seem to be responding to similar facts or conditions. Discuss your own thinking about how these differences may relate to differences in the experiences and environments of the individuals involved, and about how they may relate to differences in their traits, e.g., personality or other mental characteristics. Try to relate the essay to the discipline of Cognitive Science.
