Buddy’s Computer Training and Testing Center is a small, locally owned business housed in a small building. There are three computers in the front room which serve to enroll students for their computer basics classes (such as Introduction to Excel) and to schedule students for certification exams. The back room is much larger and houses 15 computers for students and test-takers, plus one computer for a teacher/monitor. The CEO, Bo Cavette, has said he does not want wireless capabilities so that there are fewer security concerns. However, he has hired you to look into some issues. For this assignment, choose one of these two issues:Database: The ERD has errors. These could be lack of primary or foreign keys, too much duplication of data (normalization problems), or some other issue that can be first assessed by looking at an ERD.OrNetwork: The network has problems. These could be insufficient firewall placement, a topology that is inefficient for the company’s purposes, or some other problem that can be first assessed by looking at a network diagram. Remember that wireless is not an option.Once you have chosen either database or network issues, prepare the following two documents:Document 1Formal business letter – this is a separate document and will accompany the proposal document. Its purpose is to introduce the CEO to your ideas and invite him to contact you.Use the formatting as explained in the Unit Reading PDF.Option: You may create a letterhead that contains your name, address, and contact information. This can include color, a logo, and/or different font, and may be centered at the top of the page. Indicate how you wish to be contacted, and make sure your contact information is on the letter.Any other information you think is pertinent and not contained in the actual proposal.Make sure you include all parts of the letter as explained in the Reading.Document 2ProposalCover pageInclude a name for the proposal, the client company name, your name, and the date prepared.Table of ContentsProvide this as page 2 of your business document and include all major sections.Executive Summary (100-120 words)Write two paragraphs:In the first paragraph, briefly describe the project and your final recommendation. Do you think if Filipino women migrate to other countries, they will have not so much pressure and would be freer?

Part A: Reading Journal (30 points)Content: Each week you are responsible for an approximately 200-300 word reading journal that engages with both of the week’s assigned readings. The journal should include a short summary of each reading, an outline of the core idea or author’s main argument and a brief outline of what you felt were the main takeaways. Next, discuss anything you felt was NOT well-supported, was troubling, or that inspired you or you found interesting. Finally, wrap up your reading journal with a question for the class. Your question may ask about something you find confusing or it may be a discussion question posed to the class.Don’t forget the question at the end of your forum post!Part B: Discussion Forum Posting (10 points)The comment I chose to response is :In “Jesus Loves Japan”, Ikeuchi introduces the Japanese-Brazilian migrants community. The author mentions the history of Japanese immigrants to Brazil. They are different, but not inferior. They were different from Black, and they could slow down the process of whitening. Japanese first started engaging in agriculture and their social status rose, so they can pursue a better life. Because of the war, Japanese migrants decrease and Brazil’s religious landscape changes. Nikkei-jin have different visas: long-term resident visas. They could earn more in Japan than in Brazil and they felt that they were recognized as Brazilian in Japan. However, the work they did was very dangerous and dirty. They did not have insurance, so when there was a recession, many people were unemployed and left Japan. Moreover, not only these migrants brought Buddhism and shinto to Brazil, they brought Brazil religious practice to Japan. What I found interesting is that these Japanese-Brazilian immigrants are not accepted by both countries. I felt pity for them because I think every person wants to belong to a country. They receive unequal treatment and do less favorable work. It is better for people to choose ethnicity based on their love for the culture, but not just for money and profit. In “The Pressure of Homes”, Faier introduces Fillipino women’s life in Japan. The author interviews two fillipino women, Cora and Ana, and they mention that they are performing like Japanese wives. The motivations for Fillipino perform as oyomesan are complex. Their visa renewal depends on their family’s sponsor and they desire for self-actualization. Moreover. They want to improve Japanese perception of Filipino women. These women also enjoy being acknowledged as integrating in Japanese society. However, performing the role of oyomesan made Filipino sacrifice a lot because they needed to manage two sets of domestic obligations. The author mentions that Filipino women who did not perform roles as wives and mothers, like Ruby, are criticized by other Filipino women. Filipino women have boundary objects, so when they resist, it is misread as compliance. It is very interesting that Flipino women think they are performing in the family. I can’t imagine their life because they need to fit in Japanese culture and can’t do things that they usually do in their own country. I very much respect these Filipino women because they try so hard to make people accept them and acknowledge them as Japanese wives.Discussion question: Do you think if Filipino women migrate to other countries, they will have not so much pressure and would be freer?Content: AFTER posting your reading journal, please choose one discussion question or request for clarification posted by a peer and RESPOND. Each student is required to post one response per week.

1. Describe in detail, the logic of an outcome evaluation that makes use of a traditional two group, randomized experiment. Specifically, what does this evaluation design attempt to do in order to answer the central question of program effectiveness? In addition, describe each of the following threats to internal validity (selection bias, maturation and history effects) and discuss in specific detail how an experimental design can control for these potential threats.
