Using one secondary source and one primary source you will write a polished introduction to a major American social issue from the mid-19th to the mid- 20th century (1850-1960). The topic is not required to directly relate to dress though it should be a topic that provides context for a discussion of how, when, and/or why people dressed. A list of possible issues is included at the end of this brief. Imagine that this an excerpt from a larger historical study of a specific dress style or object, where it is used to offer historical context for that object or style.

How should social media be used in the healthcare field?

It is highly likely an individual has at least one social media account, if not multiple accounts. Posting, reading, and interacting with this/these social media platform(s) is a normal daily process. Used correctly, social media can improve overall customer service and satisfaction for businesses, but it also has the opportunity to cause complications and negative images. The healthcare industry is not immune to the effects of social media. Is it appropriate for a healthcare facility to utilize social media to improve customer service? Why or why not? How should social media be used in the healthcare field? Should employees of a healthcare organization post on social media about their job? Lastly, please share your social media interactions with your healthcare practitioners/organization or discuss if you would engage with your healthcare practitioners/organization on social media.

Identify risk factors for childhood obesity.

Topic 1: Child and Adolescent Health Risks As you discovered in this week’s lectures and readings, several populations face multiple health risks across their lifespan. Children and adolescents are a population that is at a higher health risk for obesity. A national movement is underway to reduce risk factors for developing obesity in children. Part of this movement is the “Let’s Move!” campaign, which is a comprehensive and coordinated initiative to prevent childhood obesity. The initiative emphasizes four primary components: healthy schools, access to affordable and healthy food, raising children’s physical activity levels, and empowering families to make healthy choices. Review Healthy People 2020: Identify risk factors for childhood obesity. Do the risk factors differ and how do they differ between children and adolescents?  Identify objectives that will combat childhood and adolescent obesity. Provide suggestions on how community health nurses can contribute to these national health objectives and accomplish the goal of decreasing obesity among this population.
