Policy and Advocacy for Improving Population Health: Agenda Comparison Grid and Fact Sheet or Talking Points Brief.

It may seem to you that healthcare has been a national topic of debate among political leaders for as long as you can remember. Healthcare has been a policy item and a topic of debate not only in recent times but as far back as the administration of the second U.S. president, John Adams. In 1798, Adams signed legislation requiring that 20 cents per month of a sailor’s paycheck be set aside for covering their medical bills. This represented the first major piece of U.S. healthcare legislation, and the topic of healthcare has been woven into presidential agendas and political debate ever since. As a healthcare professional, you may be called upon to provide expertise, guidance and/or opinions on healthcare matters as they are debated for inclusion into new policy. You may also be involved in planning new organizational policy and responses to changes in legislation. For all of these reasons you should be prepared to speak to national healthcare issues making the news. In this Assignment, you will analyze recent presidential healthcare agendas. You also will prepare a fact sheet to communicate the importance of a healthcare issue and the impact on this issue of recent or proposed policy. To Prepare: Review the agenda priorities of the current/sitting U.S. president and the two previous presidential administrations. Select an issue related to healthcare that was addressed by each of the last three U.S. presidential administrations. Reflect on the focus of their respective agendas, including the allocation of financial resources for addressing the healthcare issue you selected. Consider how you would communicate the importance of a healthcare issue to a legislator/policymaker or a member of their staff for inclusion on an agenda. Write a refine term paper on Penicillin.

Refine your defense of the historical argument presented in your draft (and, if necessary, the historical argument itself).  As with the draft, your historical argument should be original and independent (i.e. it may be informed by but cannot restate or rely overtly on the analysis of another author) and should be expressed through a concise, compelling thesis statement following the introduction of the paper.  Defend your historical argument with the use of clear and appropriate evidence and original analysis.  The best analysis will have ample, relevant evidentiary support, synthesize rather than repeat the information from multiple sources, and demonstrate the ability to think critically about the sources of information it uses. Structure your paper according to a logical plan.  This includes breaking down distinct ideas into separate paragraphs that each support and clearly relate back to the overarching argument in your paper.

How might the stories of immigrants help fight anti-immigrant bias?

Its a chapter about a book  called ” Toward a Theory of Cultural Trauma” ONLY chp. 1   and about the short story korn. Guidelines: Minimum 500 words. Maximum 1000 words. 12-point font. Double spaced. No title page needed. No citations needed.  Alexander poses a central question: Is the suffering of others also our own? Throughout history, large and impactful events have resulted in the oppression of some populations due solely to their being members of a particular culture. During these events, these people’s suffering was overlooked by larger world populations. This suffering will give rise to “memory residues” that appear in popular culture and art. One way in which the suffering is expressed is through trauma literature. This literature tells the stories of people who are affected by larger cultural trauma. Alexander claims that, when we do not recognize people’s suffering, we can come to believe we have no role in easing that suffering and that, in fact, our own suffering occurs because of these people. According to Alexander, only when the victims are presented as people who share characteristics with members of non-oppressed societies will the larger societies become motivated to help end the suffering. After reading the chapter, what are your thoughts on the stories of suffering people? In 500 to 1000 words and in paragraph form, answer the following questions. Try to formulate a well-thought out presentation of your thoughts instead of answering one by one. What stories dominate society? Where do we find the stories of people who have no power in society? How do personal stories or personal relationships with marginalized groups help non-marginalized groups understand marginalized people’s experiences in society? Why do you think marginalized and minority groups are blamed for the nation’s problems? What do you think gave rise to current anti-immigrant sentiment? How might the stories of immigrants help fight anti-immigrant bias? Why might we need trauma literature as a society?
