Are you a perfectionist?

OVERVIEW:
Are you a perfectionist? During the Second Great Awakening, this meant you were a social reformer battling the problems of industrial society.

It is the 1820’s and you are a member of New York’s growing affluent middle class. You have made your money from the industrial changes taking place in the northern states and now want to reshape society in your image. The wave of religious radicalism with its emphasis on spiritual actions is just what you have been waiting for. You eagerly take up the cause of one of the new wave of social reform movements with the goal of making society perfect. But which one? Choose a cause and explain how you are going to make America a better place.

Choose from one of the following cause:

Abolitionism
Temperance – this was arguably the most popular cause amongst ordinary men and women.
Women’s Rights

You can find primary sources that explore each of these reform campaigns here. http://www.teachushistory.org/second-great-awakening-age-reform/resources (Links to an external site.)

INSTRUCTIONS:
You should choose one of the reform issues listed above and decided upon a strategy for spreading your ideas to northern cities like New York. Looking through the primary sources, you will see that reformers used a wide range of strategies, from speeches, pamphlets, or satirical cartoons. You can find examples above. Specifically, your source should include the following information:

-Focus on one type of reform movement and include details about the cause that are historically accurate to this period of American history. (20 points)

-Your source is meant to be persuasive and therefore needs to include a specific argument to convince people you are right. You can decide what this argument looks like. For example, will you appeal to reason or make an emotional case? (20 points)

-Does your source look historically accurate? You can choose to present your arguments in a number of different forms. It should be clear which source format you are using. (10 points)

Type one hypervisor is one layer less compared to type two hypervisor and it is located directly to the hos hardware.

v6

– It’s a state in which each member of a group is waiting for another member, including itself, to take action, such as sending a message or more commonly releasing a lock.

– By ignoring potential problems on the basis that they may be exceedingly rare.

v7

– Type two hypervisors functions on the host operating system. The moment virtualization movement began at first, type two hypervisors were widely known.

– Type one hypervisors functions directly on the system hardware. They are also called ‘bare metal’ or ‘embedded’ or ‘native’ hypervisors in the literature vendor.

– Type one hypervisor is one layer less compared to type two hypervisor and it is located directly to the hos hardware.

Type one hypervisor can be thinner compared to type two hypervisor, though it typically needs modification to the guest OS.

Easier migration to cloud -With move of several virtual machines. One is much near the full-blown cloud environment.

Exercise 1 – Chapter 7
Give a reason why a data center might be interested in virtualization.

1. Easier migration to cloud -With move of several virtual machines. One is much near the full-blown cloud environment.
2. The cost is reduced – The expensive equipment is the data center of the hardware. The less the hardware, the less the hardware.
3. Easier to test -In case of a mistake which can as well be reverted to the snapshots previously.
4. Easier to backup – Full backups can be done.

5. There is less heat buildup -With servers visualization, there is reduced hardware and thus heat.
6. Better disaster recovery – Recovery of disaster is very easy when someone’s data center is under visualization.

Exercise 21 – Chapter 7
Running multiple virtual machines on a PC is known to require large amounts of memory.
Why? Can you think of any ways to reduce the memory usage? Explain.

This is because of the requirement of memory through the operation systems in running, usually windows. A virtual machine needs memory such as other real machine. A virtual machine is able to claim some of the true machine to use in its memory. Most of the software of VM will allow one to specify the amount of memory to be allocated to each of them but too little and their speed can be low as well as unbreakable. The VM can use the memory and also the program. In reality, VM is a computer, instead of hardware; it utilizes hardware as it pretends to be hardware. Just like other real computer which needs memory, VM does that too. It needs memory in the storage its RAM.

Service Guarantees, do they work?

Given all the service guarantees we see or hear on a daily bases, do these really make you feel better about the services you are paying for at the bank, restaurant, cable company or retail store?

Present your perspective and discuss the positives and potential problems with using them Do such systems add or take away the value of the HR department?

“A staffing evaluation enables the HR group to justify what it has done and how it contributed to the firm’s bottom line”

There are many staffing evaluation systems discussed. Select any two

Wrte a discussion, where you consider different socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors that should be taken into considerations when building a health history for patients with diverse backgrounds.

May 2012, Alice Randall wrote an article for The New York Times on the cultural factors that encouraged black women to maintain a weight above what is considered healthy. Randall explained—from her observations and her personal experience as a black woman—that many African-American communities and cultures consider women who are overweight to be more beautiful and desirable than women at a healthier weight. As she put it, “Many black women are fat because we want to be” (Randall, 2012).

Randall’s statements sparked a great deal of controversy and debate; however, they emphasize an underlying reality in the healthcare field: different populations, cultures, and groups have diverse beliefs and practices that impact their health. Nurses and healthcare professionals should be aware of this reality and adapt their health assessment techniques and recommendations to accommodate diversity.

Define and explain nursing informatics and highlight the role of a nurse leader as a knowledge worker.

• Review the concepts of informatics as presented in the Resources.
• Reflect on the role of a nurse leader as a knowledge worker.
• Consider how knowledge may be informed by data that is collected/accessed.
The Assignment:
• Explain the concept of a knowledge worker.
• Define and explain nursing informatics and highlight the role of a nurse leader as a knowledge worker.
• Develop a simple infographic to help explain these concepts.
• Your PowerPoint should Include the hypothetical scenario you originally shared in the Discussion Forum. Include your examination of the data that you could use, how the data might be accessed/collected, and what knowledge might be derived from that data.
