In December 2015 the Obama Administration and the U.S. delegation to the Paris COP 21 Climate Change Conference agreed to committing the U.S. and other nations to a series of actions on climate to reduce man made carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Since then President Trump announced on June 1, 2017 his intentions to withdraw the U.S. from the agreement, which was formally finalized last November.Considering the global and national challenges of managing society’s wastes, physical, liquid and gaseous, and their implications for the earth, its biosphere and future generations, what in fact should be the nation’s way forward for the environment? In other words what public policies should be adopted to address environmental protection in this country over the short, medium and long term future?
