In the very first line of the Allegory, Socrates says that the story about the cave is meant to illustrate the extent to which we are enlightened, or…not! Give an original example from our world of mistaking shadows for reality, making sure that the example parallels the allegory in at least some respects. The example can involve a single person, or a whole group of people. If a classmate has already given the example you wanted to give, use a different (new) example.
