Purpose: Through the completion of the Recruitment and Selection Project, the student will create a staffing plan which a hypothetical organization of their own design may use to acquire talent. The entire staffing process will be developed includingthe creation of job descriptions, the development and evaluation of necessary recruitment and selection methods, and an analysis of appropriate job offer and onboarding strategies. Care should be taken throughout the development of this project to ensure that all recommendations, processes, and procedures follow relevant EEO laws and regulations.
Part I: Job Analysis and Job Descriptions
• Describe your hypothetical company. What type of business is it? What type of product or service does it provide? What external influences impact your organization and potential labor supply (i.e., customers, legal environment, economic environment, competitive environment, labor market, etc.)?• Describe the company’s strategic initiative that is driving a specific staffing need. For example – the opening of a new production line; adding a third shift to the call center; expanding the outside sales force, etc.• Describe the job analysis process you will use for your organization. What relevant resources will you use and why? How many classifications will exist within your organization? What will be the job classification for the specific staffing need for this project.• Develop a complete job description for the specific strategic staffing need for this project.
