World War I brought aviation into warfare for the first time. Discuss how WWI enabled aviation to become stronger, faster, and more important technically and strategically. After the war, large-scale production led to a surplus of military equipment that briefly curtailed the industry leading into the Golden Age of Aviation in the 20’s and 30’s.
