The summative assignment for this course is the creation of a legal contract for providing expert testimony, as well as forensic evaluation. This contract will have several components, including your 1.Qualifications 2.Roles and responsibilities 3. Brief code of ethics 4. Fee schedule 5. Risk assessment, 6. Diagnostic consultation 7. Recommended treatment strategies. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: I. Articulate your qualifications as an expert witness. In other words, to what extent do your credentials, licensures, and expectations meet the standards of Federal Rule of Evidence (FRE) 702? II. Define roles and responsibilities of involved parties. A. Besides yourself, who is involved in this case and what roles do they or will they serve? What responsibilities will they hold in this case? B. To what ethical standards will each of the involved parties be expected to adhere? Substantiate your claims with specific research. III. Propose a brief code of ethics by which you will be bound as you work with this client. Be sure the ethical guidelines you are suggesting for yourself are in line with those of a professional psychology association, and substantiate your claims with specific examples IV. Propose a fee schedule that aligns with FRE standards for compensation that outlines what you will charge for record review, diagnostic evaluation, report writing, interviewing, consultation with other professionals, expert testimony, and depositions, as well as appointment cancellation fees, retainers, financing charges if applicable, and terms for insurance coverage when applicable. V. Risk Assessment A. Propose appropriate risk assessment(s) that are based on the Daubert standard that you plan to use for this particular client. B. How do classic and contemporary psychology theories support your choice of risk assessment(s)? VI. Psychological Assessment Report A. Prepare a psychological assessment report that demonstrates use of objective testing data. B. Discuss the efficacy of treatment strategies appropriate for this particular client. B. How do classic and contemporary psychology theories support these conclusions? VIII. Analyze the extent to which the information you are providing the court meets FRE 702. In other words, how can the court be sure your testimony is based on sufficient facts or data and is derived from reliable principles or methods? Be sure to justify your claims with specific research. IX. Prepare an affidavit to include with your agreement: A.
