You have been writing about your threat group throughout the course and for your final paper you will produce a longer response, using the same threat group you selected at the beginning of the course. Your final paper will be 12-15 pages in length. Your paper’s topic should serve as an outline of a comprehensive strategy for fighting your group and ensuring it does not threaten the U.S. by 2015. Summary You should start with a 1-2 page summary of the individual papers you have written in prior modules of the course. Your summary should identify the most pressing threats that your group poses to the U.S. After reading this introductory section, a policymaker should have no doubt about why they need to act on this threat. Plan Overview: The remaining 8-10 pages should construct a detailed plan to reduce and eliminate the group as a threat to the U.S. Your response should include: How to use a whole government approach. Identify the specific agencies and offices (e.g., DEA Special Operations Division). Discuss what they bring to bear and what their expected impact would be; Examples of public-private partnerships that would assist in this strategy; How the U.S. should reach out to the international community to support this strategy; and Any new programs or policies that the U.S. should implement in support of the program. In writing your report, you should apply the readings from this module, the online lessons, and external research that you conduct.
