Examine the categories of disabilities enumerated in IDEIA, and collect information and statistical data about students in their school district (or a district of interest) who exhibit each of the disability categories identified, noting especially the over-representation of any minority groups identified with specific disabilities. Students will compare/contrast this information to national data, identifying and analyzing any potentially significant differences. Identify, describe, and analyze, and evaluate at least three scientifically researched based inclusive instructional practices and/or interventions employed in their school/districts special education services for students receiving itinerant (1st intervention – Read 180 ), supplemental (2nd intervention – Systems 44 Next Generation), and full-time (3rd intervention Reading Recovery). Students will identify, describe, and analyze, and evaluate at least one assistive technology device – Frequency modulation (FM) systems. FM systems are also used to help kids with hearing impairment, autism spectrum disorder and language-processing issues. Therefore, there will be a total of 4 inclusive instructional practices and/or interventions. 3.
