Explain what [policy] changes need to be made to make sure that persons like the main character in your story do not engage in crime.

Based on your knowledge of the theories and our discussion in class, this paper will require you to select one of the films from the list below and utilize three theories we have covered this semester to explain the criminal behavior depicted in the film.
*NOTE: When choosing a theory, focus on one theorist and go into detail about their interpretation of the theory, instead of explaining all the variations of the theory. For example, Anomie/Strain theories include Merton, Agnew, and Messner & Rosenfeld—choose only one theory from that group.

You should choose three theories you believe explain the character(s) and provide in-depth details from the film that support your argument highlighting the major assumptions of each theory you choose. Most importantly, make sure your facts are specific enough and relate to the theory’s assumptions. You are to answer the following questions:
How do the theories you have chosen explain the main character’s behavior (e.g. how can each of the three theories be applied to explain the behavior)?
