Choose a poem from the following selections:  · Billy Collins, “Introduction to Poetry”  · Nikki Giovanni, “Poetry”  · William Wordsworth, “I wandered lonely as a cloud” · John Keats, “Ode on a Grecian Urn”  · Robert Herrick, “To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time”  · William Blake, “The Lamb”  · William Blake, “The Tyger”  · William Shakespeare, “My mistress’s eyes are nothing like the sun”  · Robert Browning, “Porphyria’s Lover” 2. Go through the poem and rewrite it to replace all major words with words that mean something similar (think thesaurus).   3. Now, write a paragraph that answers the following questions in complete sentences:   a.  Is this the same poem?   After all, the words mean the same.   b.  How does this version compare to the original?   c.  Which poem is more effective and vivid?  Why?
