In your responses, when you are writing about a particular photograph, please refer to the number (which can be found in the lower right hand side of the frame) of which photo you are discussing or please refer to the title of the photograph (which can be found listed after the name of the photographer at the top of the slide).

Do the photographs in this collection communicate the same information/same perspective about the Depression? What are some similarities across the photos and what are some key differences?
What do you think the photographers wanted their viewers to think about, to know, and/or to do after seeing these images? In other words, why do you think they took and published these particular photographs and what did they want to argue or communicate to viewers of these images?
What are the advantages and disadvantages of looking to photographs as primary sources? What kind of information can photographs provide that other sources cannot? What are the limitations of relying on photographs? How are photographs similar or different to other forms of visual culture (cartoons, paintings, posters, films)?
