FAVORITE RECORDING GROUP OR ARTIST Paper Specifics: 1500-2000 words. (This does not include title page or Bibliography) Standard 12 pt. Font Times New Roman 1” margins Double spaced (This may not be your default setting). PLEASE don’t vary this if you want full credit. *Hint- this is an internet course, as soon as I bring up your paper I can see your settings. Sources: Use at least 3 (three) primary sources. Make sure that at least 2 of your sources are NOT the internet. All sources must be documented, in a bibliography, at the end of the paper. Then make sure that you cite your sources throughout your paper (I prefer footnotes, but will accept in text citing if done correctly). You may use MLA or APA format. Again, make sure it is done correctly. (If you do not know how to do this, please contact me ASAP, and I will help you.) Possible Sources: Including but NOT limited to (if you are not sure if something would be a source, contact me, and I will help you out): The Internet. A variety of websites will constitute one primary source. (Be careful that the sites you choose are reliable, for instance, do not use Wikipedia, even though it is easy, it can be unreliable.) Books. This would include books devoted to the subject or books that have specific information relating to the subject. Magazines. Any of the trade magazines including Billboard, Variety, Spin, etc. or liner notes. Documentaries/Video interviews. Often these sources interview the artist, and are therefore good sources of information. ****Many of these things can be found on the internet…It is fine if you use them, as long as they are just republications of the original and cannot be changed. This is a good source to help you start searching for reliable information. http://www.rasmussen.edu/student-life/blogs/college-life/15-educational-search-engines/ Content: The body of the paper must include the following: A historical look at the group or artist…When they signed, what they have accomplished, etc. (40% of the paper) A personal look at the group…How has/does this group/artist affect you personally?
