Research the range of contemporary issues teenagers face today. In a 500-750-word paper, choose one issue (besides teen pregnancy) and discuss its effect on adolescent behavior and overall well-being. Include the following in your submission:

Describe the contemporary issue and explain what external stressors are associated with this issue.
Outline assessment strategies to screen for this issue and external stressors during an assessment for an adolescent patient. Describe what additional assessment questions you would need to ask and define the ethical parameters regarding what you can and cannot share with the parent or guardian.
Discuss support options for adolescents encountering external stressors. Include specific support options for the contemporary issue you presented.

Analyze the responsibility of the United States today to be the world’s “policeman.”
Assess if peace and stability in the Middle East are vital to U.S. economy and national security.

Assess if the use of military force is the only way to prevent terrorism. Are there other possible alternatives? Which strategy is best and why?

Define three common terms used in toxicology. In addition, evaluate how media influence (including social media) may impact present situations in this field.

Write a paper, addressing the following prompt:

Analyze how the visual and/or aural elements of the filmmaking [mise-en-scene, lighting, diegetic and non-diegetic sound, camera angles and focus, editing] contribute to the film’s intention and effect.

Here is the list of films you may write about: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Do the Right Thing, The Silence of the Lambs, Get Out, and The Florida Project.

Some questions you might want to ask (and answer):

How does the use of lighting and/or color establish tone? Is the film monotonic (i.e. one tone throughout), or do the lighting and color palette shift the tone between scenes/acts/locations?
How do elements of the mise-en-scene contribute to our understanding of the characters, milieu, or narrative?
What point(s)-of-view does the use of framing, camera angles, and/or camera movements establish? Does the point of view shift from scene to scene (or within scenes)? What, if any, function does the camera’s POV play in characterization and narrative?
What thematic or narrative functions do the film’s editing techniques serve (e.g. noteworthy match cuts, L- or J-cuts)?
What major motifs can you find in the film? What is their significance to the film’s themes and/or to the characters and the narrative?
Are any of the elements characteristic (or uncharacteristic) of the film’s genre? Are there any signature marks of the filmmaker’s (director, cinematographer, or screenwriter) personal artistic style?

Write: As part of the writing process, you are expected to reflect on your work and revise and edit accordingly. It is also useful to establish a community of learners in which you help edit and proofread each other’s papers. This reciprocal process will help you identify areas of strength and weakness in others’ writing as well as reflect on your own work and perhaps discover similar mistakes.
