1. What are some of the most common forms of unethical behavior in our workforce today? How could leadership in organizations help to minimize this ethical misconduct? Explain and support your positions with relevant course content and outside sources.

2. As our businesses have developed over the last 100 plus years, have our modern day businesses evolved to be more ethical today? What are some of the factors that helped you come to your conclusion? Take a position and support your thoughts.

3. Would you describe the financial meltdown in our 2007-2008 financial markets as a failure of “people” or of our “capital market processes”? Why? Support your thoughts with ethical theory and examples. Use our library for added research if needed.

4. Tell me about why diversity and discrimination are two important ethical factors that leaders should focus on while attempting to manage their workforce? Provide one example of how mismanaging these issues have had an impact on an organization. How would you explain the importance of these to your employees?

5. Are corporate outreach and company sponsored volunteer programs a good idea for organizations to implement? Why? From an ethical leadership perspective, why would you choose OR not choose to implement these programs? Use course theory and specific examples to support your conclusion.

Design an educational teaching tool (PowerPoint) that will focus on the major healthcare payers to present to your peers.
• What are the differences and similarities between SCHIP, Indian Health Service, Veterans Health Administration?
• What types of environments (where) would you expect to find these services?
• What are the major-specific characteristics of each payer?
• How do each of these, along with private pay and any third-party payer, affect how a nurse practitioner provides care?
• Are there any differences/similarities between physicians and NP’s payment structures?

Explain job order costing and activity-based costing income statements in general terms. Prepare income statement in both job order costing and activity-based costing formats for a hypothetical case. Your example should include at least three activities and at least two products. If you do both correctly the operating income in both statements should be identical. Explain the initial assumptions and the calculations in detail.

Write a story about something you have unseen in your life, either through training or through your own volition. The story can be fiction or non-fiction, but it must be a story, following some sequential pattern (either chronological, achronological, anti-chronological, i.e., time is an element in the piece).

Choose one of the following themes to explore with reference to one of the assigned readings from Weeks 4 to 6:

Examine the various romantic relationships described in the metaphysical poetry we read. What are the roles of men and women in these relationships? Can you generalize about gender roles in courtship?
Malory was trying to entertain us and Spenser was trying to edify us. Compare and contrast Malory’s Lancelot with Spenser’s Redcrosse. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each of these heroes? What is the significance of their similarities and differences?
Discuss a difficult decision faced by one of these characters: Milton’s Satan, Bunyan’s Christian, or Behn’s Oroonoko. What is the moral dilemma involved? How does the character reach his decision? What do you think that the author is trying to teach us about free will?
As you explore these themes, be sure to consider secondary characters as well to develop a full picture. Look for what the author is trying to teach us.

Psychologists and forensic psychology professionals who work in correctional settings often are called upon to assess inmates for their risk of potential harm to others. In many cases, this can be at the heart of evaluations conducted by parole boards, whose job it is to decide if a particular inmate should be released into society. Research on conducting risk assessments and predicting violence potential has shed light on the science and art of such assessments. Empirical data has shown that certain static and fluid risk factors are related to violent acts. Research studies also have concluded that certain instruments can increase the ability of assessors to accurately predict someone’s future behavior.

To prepare for this assignment:

Review the article, “Historical and Personality Correlates to the Violence Patterns of Juveniles Tried as Adults.” Pay particular attention to the assessment instruments/procedures and how they are used to determine violence and associated risk factors.
Think about how the results reported in this article might be applied in a correctional setting.
Review the article, “Felony and Violent Recidivism Among Supermax Prison Inmates in Washington State: A Pilot Study.” Pay close attention to the important data and results, and any other key “takeaways” of the study, and consider how the study might be used in a correctional setting.
Review this week’s DVD program, “Application of Psychological Research – Correctional Settings.” Focus on what makes effective and ineffective criterion measures for analyzing recidivism, violent crime, and institutional adjustment.
Using the Walden Library, select a research article related to the assessment of violence potential.
Review the article you selected. Note how the study was conducted, the important data and results, and any other key “ takeaways” of the study.
Consider how the results of your chosen study might be used to predict the violence potential of someone in a correctional institution or who has been released on parole.
