Kirk (2016) stated Annotation as “the simple need to explain things” to the viewer using the correct balance to be effective. There are two main groups of annotation designs where are project and chart.

For this discussion, select two of the following data visualizations from the book companion site, include the figure number and title/name and describe the annotations which would include if these are in the project or chart group of designs. Include your perspective on the use of the annotations and also include what would enhance or increase the effectivity as it relates to annotations and why.

In the modern era, there are few professions that do not to some extent rely on data. Stockbrokers rely on market data to advise clients on financial matters. Meteorologists rely on weather data to forecast weather conditions, while realtors rely on data to advise on the purchase and sale of property. In these and other cases, data not only helps solve problems, but adds to the practitioner’s and the discipline’s body of knowledge.

Of course, the nursing profession also relies heavily on data. The field of nursing informatics aims to make sure nurses have access to the appropriate date to solve healthcare problems, make decisions in the interest of patients, and add to knowledge.

In this Discussion, you will consider a scenario that would benefit from access to data and how such access could facilitate both problem-solving and knowledge formation.

• Reflect on the concepts of informatics and knowledge work as presented in the Resources.
• Consider a hypothetical scenario based on your own healthcare practice or organization that would require or benefit from the access/collection and application of data. Your scenario may involve a patient, staff, or management problem or gap.

Post a description of the focus of your scenario. Describe the data that could be used and how the data might be collected and accessed. What knowledge might be derived from that data? How would a nurse leader use clinical reasoning and judgment in the formation of knowledge from this experience?

Using the IPEDS Fall Enrollment table for your chosen institution, investigate the diversity of the student population (by age, race/ethnicity, gender, and disabilities). Compare and contrast the diversity of your institution with its peer group. What programs and services are in place in your institution to meet its needs?

Discuss economic methodology, including the concept of cost-based analysis. If you will not be addressing this in your DPI Project, provide an example of a program where it could be used to show outcomes. Provide examples and literature support.

Discuss a change theory and how it can be or has been applied in nursing practice to integrate care delivery sustainability. How will you use change theory in the design of your project to support the sustainability of your practice improvement intervention? Provide examples and literature support.

New health care delivery models are being presented to accommodate the shift in health care objectives. Many of these models are community-based and focused on improving quality outcomes, population health, and reducing readmissions to acute care settings.

1. Describe a new health care delivery model and discuss whether or not it is sustainable.

2. How will you use a health care delivery model in the design of your project to support the sustainability of your practice improvement intervention?
