In your journal, be sure to address the following critical elements for both articles:

This week covered various areas and priorities surrounding records retention. What steps and processes would you develop or implement at your organization to put legal boundaries around retention? Would you incorporate any of the schedulers, if so which one and why?

Having immersed yourself as a student of public policy, is it feasible for the federal, state and local levels of government to provide 99.9% protection from terrorist attacks, man-made disasters, and natural disasters? Is the creation of the National Response Plan, the National Incident Management System, and the Department of Homeland Security the step in the right direction, or is the government responding to political forces to appear that they are making progress in the protection of its citizens? What role does Presidential Declaration play in this process?

Heat transfer in this activity is both external, from the water or air to the egg, and internal, from the outside of the egg towards the yolk. Which method is best at transferring heat from the fluid to the eggshell? Compare the temperature gradients you observed in the two methods. Which of the methods produces the most pronounced gradient? Which of the methods is likely to produce the most consistent hard cooked egg?2. Both of the cooking methods used here are based on convection but there are some differences (beyond the obvious fact that one is wet and one is dry!). A story is described below.  Read this story, then answer the following questions and fulfill all requirements.  Within this assignment, you will identify ethical issues and comment on those issues using your critical thinking skills.

Story:

In 1985, a former Russian KGB agent gave an interview describing how the Russian government goes about brainwashing its own population.  The four phases are demoralization, destabilization, crises, and normalization.

• In the first phase, the educational system is weakened and the population is fed useless information until it no longer is able to assess the facts.
• Destabilization involves undermining the economy, foreign relations, and the national defense system.
• The crises phase is brought about by a sudden, unexpected, imminent threat.
• In response to the crises, the government puts in place emergency measures after which follows the normalization process, which affirms and institutionalizes the new status quo.

Answer the following.

1.  Your first task will be to decide who is ethically responsible to carry out the duties described in the following assignment questions and then explain why.

• Is it the American government’s ethical responsibility to provide for the education — to include developing strong critical thinking skills — of the American people?  Why or why not?
• Is it the American government’s ethical responsibility to ensure the American population has access to full and accurate news and information?  Why or why not?

2.  For this final requirement, be careful not to jump to conclusions.  This assignment challenges students to go beyond using only System-1 thinking.  Use your critical thinking skills and be sure to consider all the possibilities.  Be sure to address the following in your answer:

Choose an existing product or service (except Walmart, Netflix,apple,McDonald’s) and write a one-page summary that answers the following four questions.

1. Does the product or service have a competitive advantage (cost, differentiation, etc.)? If not, what is your recommendation for it to attain a competitive advantage?
2. Is the competitive advantage sustainable because of relevance or defensibility? If you answered no to question one, how would your recommendation lead to a sustainable competitive advantage?
3. What barriers does the competition face to entering the same market or gaining a competitive advantage?
4. What is the value provided to customers, and is that value a sustainable competitive advantage? Why or why not?

Provide a summary of the selections from Reformation (Calvin and Trent) assigned in the Syllabus. Write a summary of the arguments presented in the commentary/reading specified using the prompts provided on the reading guide pages in this module. The assignment will be graded on a four-point scale using the rubric provided. This assignment is due on Saturday.

In this argument summary paper, you should summarize the selections from Calvin’s Commentaries and the Council of Trent. Effectively, you are summarizing two different sets of arguments.
