Explore techniques, tools, and approaches to design and produce an effective professional presentation for an appropriate business audience.

Scenario

You work in a training department at a large bank. Your marketing department regularly gives presentations based on research they produce for new product development. Your manager has attended several of these presentations and feel they fall short based on the material they are covering. The presenters don’t seem to be reaching the intended audience, which are senior managers. Additionally, they contain too much marginal material with slides that overload the audience.

You and your manager agree that there are essential elements that should be considered when developing a presentation for a professional audience. One of the keys to success is understanding who your audience is. A presentation to senior management will be different than a presentation to your customers. Also, a good presentation should have an introduction, a clear statement of objectives, an overview of the topic, data to support your ideas, and a conclusion. The way data is presented can make a big difference as well.

Your manager has tasked you with creating a presentation for training purposes that will help your marketing team create professional presentations that are visually pleasing and content appropriate.

Instructions

Create a presentation using either Microsoft PowerPoint that provides a guide for creating successful professional presentations.

• Introduction that includes your name and the topic you will be covering. (slide 1)
• Explain how to prepare for a specific audience. Include two examples of different audiences and how your approach will be different. (2-3 slides)
• Describe the type and amount of information to be included when you are presenting your objectives and overview of your project. (2-3 slides)
• Discuss how to effectively display data. Give two examples of tools that allow you to successfully display your supporting data using. (2-3 slides)
• Demonstrate how to give a succinct conclusion to end your presentation. (1 slide)

Discuss the importance of Access Control in a business environment.

1. Prepare a risk management plan for the project of finding a job after graduation.

On the Internet find a reliable source detailing the 99 Names of God (Allah) as put forth by Islam

Choose three or four of your favorite qualities you find there, and then compare these qualities with the Judeo-Christian view of God, called Yahweh by Jews, God the Father by Christians, among other names and designations.

What are some similarities you find between how Muslims regard Allah, and how Jews and Christians regard the God of the Bible?

In your opinion, what are some differences you have observed?

Research a manufacturing organization of your choice, and describe its strategic manufacturing policy. (Note: You may choose a private-sector or public-sector organization; however, more information will be available for a private-sector, publicly traded company). Your description should consider long-term issues (1–5 years), and include a discussion of the following topics:

• Markets and customers
• Suppliers, vendors, and supply chain partners
• Facilities (e.g., plants, distribution centers, and so on)

Describe the following characteristics to be included in the strategic planning process:

Using your current work organization (or an organization of interest) and a second organization in the same industry as the subject matter expert, research the elements of business, compare and contrast the two selected organizations.

• Analyze the basic legal, social, and economic environment in which the organizations operate

Examine changes introduced to reform or restructure the U.S. health care delivery system. In a  paper, discuss action taken for reform and restructuring and the role of the nurse within this changing environment.

Include the following:

1. Outline a current or emerging health care law or federal regulation introduced to reform or restructure some aspect of the health care delivery system. Describe the effect of this on nursing practice and the nurse’s role and responsibility.
2. Discuss how quality measures and pay for performance affect patient outcomes. Explain how these affect nursing practice and describe the expectations and responsibilities of the nursing role in these situations.
3. Discuss professional nursing leadership and management roles that have arisen and how they are important in responding to emerging trends and in the promotion of patient safety and quality care in diverse health care settings.
4. Research emerging trends. Predict two ways in which the practice of nursing and nursing roles will grow or transform within the next five years to respond to upcoming trends or predicted issues in health care.
