Explain the implications of leading within a changing global business environment.

Scenario: You are the CEO of MegaGlobe Business Solutions, a financial consulting corporation based in Chicago that has just recently opened new offices in São Paulo, Brazil and Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. As part of this transition, your employees will now be working collaboratively with employees at these locations to provide financial consulting services in these new markets. To assist with the transition, you will develop an internal leadership blog for your employees that addresses the implications of leading within a culturally-diverse and changing global business environment. This blog should focus on the need to positively adapt to a variety of leadership styles and individual differences within these cultures.

View the videos listed in this week’s classroom materials for ideas about how to effectively lead, motivate, and communicate with your employees about the need to adapt within this changing business environment.

Write a 700- to 1,050-word internal leadership blog using the Leadership Blog template, and include the following:

Explain the implications of leading within a changing global business environment.
Describe the Team Leadership Model and how this relates to your current business practices.
Outline positive aspects of gender, diversity, culture, and teamwork that can improve overall business performance.
Apply principles of motivational leadership within a variety of diverse cultures.
Use at least one image, photo, chart, or graph to deliver a key concept within your blog.

List three classes of drugs affecting the Hematopoietic System.

For this questions, please read the following case study and then respond to the questions noted below.

Mr. EBR is a 74-year-old retired Hispanic gentleman with known coronary artery disease (CAD), who presents to your clinic with substernal chest pain for the past 3 months. It is not positional; it reliably occurs with exertion, approximately one to two times daily, and is relieved with rest, or one or two sublingual nitroglycerin (NTG) tabs. It is similar in quality, but is much less severe, than the chest pain that occurred with his previous inferior myocardial infarction (MI) 3 years ago. Until the past 3 months, he has felt well.

The chest pain is accompanied by diaphoresis and nausea, but no shortness of breath (SOB) or palpitations. He does not vomit. He denies orthopnea, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea (PND), syncope, presyncope, dizziness, lightheadedness, and symptoms of stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA). An echocardiogram done after his MI demonstrated a preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). Other medical problems include well-controlled type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), well-controlled hypertension (HTN), and hyperlipidemia, with low-density lipoprotein (LDL) at goal. He also has stage 3 chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetic neuropathy. He no longer smokes and does not use alcohol or recreational drugs. His daily medications include: Atenolol 25 mg PO bid, Lisinopril 20 mg PO bid, aspirin 81 mg PO daily, Simvastatin 80 mg PO each evening, and metformin 500 mg PO bid.

Mr. EBR’s physical examination includes the following: height 68 inches, weight 185 lb, Blood pressure (BP) 126/78, heart rate (HR) 64, Respiratory rate (RR) 16, and temperature 98.6°F orally. He is alert and oriented, and in no apparent distress (NAD). His neck is without jugular venous distention (JVD) or carotid bruits. Lungs are clear to auscultation bilaterally. Cardiovascular:normal S1 & S2, RRR, without rubs, murmurs or gallops. Abdomen has active bowel tones and is soft, nontender, and nondistended (NTND). Extremities are without clubbing, cyanosis, or edema. Distal pedal pulses are 2+ bilaterally

What would you add to the current treatment plan? Why?
Would you discontinue any of the currently prescribed medication? Why or why not?
How does the diagnosis stage 3 chronic kidney disease affect your choices?
Why is the patient prescribed more than one antihypertensive?
What is the benefit of the aspirin therapy in this patient?
Discussion Question 2
List three classes of drugs affecting the Hematopoietic System. List the mechanism of action for each class of drug. Choose one medication from the three classes and discuss what disorder the drug is used to treat? How often the medication is given? What labs should get monitored while the patient is taking this medication?

Analyze how theories of development and related research explain aspects of adolescent growth and behavior.

Create a one-page (front and back) information fact sheet about an adolescent development issue, designed for the general public.

Note: The assessments in this course build upon each other, so you are strongly encouraged to complete them in sequence.

When working with organizations that address adolescent development issues, a developmental psychologist will often need to condense and translate information for the consumption of the general public.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

IMPORTNANT
Competency 1: Analyze how theories of development and related research explain aspects of adolescent growth and behavior.
Identify key theories and research relevant for the intended audience.
Competency 3: Assess evidence-based interventions to address adolescent developmental issues.
Recommend best practices that are relevant for the intended audience.
Competency 4: Communicate in a manner that is consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology.
Use grammar, punctuation, and mechanics expected of graduate-level composition and expression.
Use APA format and style in written documents, with only minor errors that do not detract from meaning.

Context
Historically, researchers have attempted to consider adolescent challenges by considering relevant risk factors (for example, maternal depression) that predict negative adolescent outcomes. More recent research has moved toward a focus on protective factors and resiliency as opposed to a focus on risk factors when thinking about challenges with adolescence (Kim, Oesterle, Catalano, & Hawkins, 2015). For example, Benson’s research (as cited in Santrock, 2019) found the following external and internal assets related to positive developmental outcomes for adolescents.

The external assets include the following:

Support (such as family and neighborhood).
Empowerment (such as adults in the community valuing youth and giving them useful community roles).
Boundaries and expectations (such as the family setting clear rules and consequences and monitoring the adolescent’s whereabouts, as well as the presence of positive peer influence).
Constructive use of time (such as engaging in creative activities three or more times a week and participating three or more hours a week in organized youth programs).
The internal assets include the following:

Commitment to learning (such as being motivated to achieve in school and doing at least one hour of homework on school days).
Positive values (such as helping others and demonstrating integrity).
Social competencies (such as knowing how to plan and make decisions and having interpersonal competencies like empathy and friendship skills).
Positive identity (such as having a sense of control over life and high self-esteem).
Coping involves dealing with adverse circumstances, efforts to solve life problems, and reducing stressors (Santrock, 2019). Several strategies for coping in adolescence include positive and optimistic thinking, increasing personal self-control and avoiding immediate gratification, seeking social support, seeking professional counseling help, and using multiple coping strategies since a combined effect may help to cope successfully (Santrock, 2019).

While there are several challenges related to navigating adolescent development, the good news is that the vast majority of teenagers are successful in their navigation of adolescence and gain the requisite skills for developing into autonomous and resilient adults.

Evaluate the relationship between the literature and real-world practice in relation to the chosen topic in adolescent development.

Write a  white paper that provides an overview of current, peer-reviewed research on an issue affecting adolescent development and recommends steps for further action.

Note: The assessments in this course build upon each other, so you are strongly encouraged to complete them in sequence.

Professionals are often asked to support their organizations’ research on issues, present their findings, and recommend next steps.

By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:

Competency 1: Analyze how theories of development and related research explain aspects of adolescent growth and behavior.
Evaluate current research related to the chosen topic in adolescent development.
Competency 2: Assess the potential impact of individual and cultural differences on adolescent development.
Evaluate the relationship between the literature and real-world practice in relation to the chosen topic in adolescent development.
Competency 3: Assess evidence-based interventions to address adolescent developmental issues.
Recommend best practices for positive adolescent development.
Competency 4: Communicate in a manner that is consistent with expectations for professionals in the field of psychology.
Use grammar, punctuation, and mechanics expected of graduate-level composition and expression.
Use APA format and style in written documents, with only minor errors that do not detract from meaning.

While there is a myriad of potential problems in adolescence, some of the more common issues include increased participation in risky or delinquent activity, increases in physical and mental health issues, and issues related to socialization (such as peer group dynamics, sexual identity, and body image).

Risky behaviors, such as crime, substance use, unprotected sex, and reckless driving, reach their peak during adolescence as compared to other stages of life (Steinberg, 2014). To date, the research indicates few empirically supported programs for reducing risky health behavior during adolescence (Steinberg, 2015).
Nutrition, exercise, and sleep are other major areas that offer health-enhancing or health-comprising behavioral choices for adolescents (Santrock, 2019). Adolescents and young adults have less access to health care than other age groups due to a variety of factors (Cobb, 2007).
Socialization for today’s teens looks very different from just a few decades ago. Adolescents spend more waking time in a school setting than in any other environment (Eccles & Roeser, 2011). Navigating the balance between peer groups and individual identity, sexuality, and body image are sources of intense stress for many adolescents. The way in which issues of loyalty, compassion, and acceptance are dealt with during this period often forms the templates for subsequent adult relationships (Santrock, 2019).

To deepen your understanding, you are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of the professional community.

Identify what you consider to be the most under-addressed adolescent health issues, problem behaviors, or social/identity issues in the United States today.

Why are these issues so crucial to the present and future health of adolescents?
What might be an ideal approach to ensuring related healthy interventions for American teens?
What venues and organizations might be the most effective at executing the proposed intervention (or interventions)?
How might adolescent social relationships (friendships, intimate relationships, or relationships with parents) affect the approach to interventions?

Explain why an MNC may invest funds in a financial market outside its own country.

The most popular way for international expansion is for a local firm to acquire foreign companies. One of the most benefits for international expansion is global distribution capability that helps expanding the market share.

There are different implications of running a company that is within or outside of the European Union. If you were the head of a firm based in the United States, please answer the following questions, providing the rationale behind your answers:

Would you seek to acquire a company within the European Union or outside of it? Why?
Describe the advantages and disadvantages of the choice you made.
Describe the advantages and disadvantages inherent in the option you did not choose.
Explain why an MNC may invest funds in a financial market outside its own country.
Explain why some financial institutions prefer to provide credit in financial markets outside their own country.

Describe your research choices and descriptions of variables/constructs.

Describe your research choices and descriptions of variables/constructs. Discuss how the variables/constructs will be measured and how they’ll be evaluated to ensure validity/reliability or trustworthiness. Include how they contribute to the internal alignment of your overall research design.
Additionally, develop strategies you will use to select and ethically treat your participants. Include how they’ll be chosen, type of participants (what are their current life roles?) and how you’ll ethically treat the participants.

Explain curative factors that occurred in the group. Include how these factors might impact client progress.
