These papers should analyze critically one major issue in a reading assignment, an issue that you find thought-provoking or problematic. Possible analytical approaches: 1) Develop a theoretical and/or empirical critique of the theoretical arguments you analyze (e.g., Does other past or present theory or research evidence support or challenge their arguments?); 2) Compare material in readings with other theory/research material presented in seminar sessions; 3) Compare and contrast material in one reading assignment with that in another; or 4) Use material in the reading assignment to assess other theoretical analyses or theoretically relevant empirical research you know well.
Analyze articles focusing on the research design and the
relationships among theory, methods, and evidenced based approaches and claims. Analysis will be conducted to identify research questions, theoretical framing, research design and methods for participant selection, data collection, and data analysis. By analyzing research methodology as reported in the article, students will evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the research report and the claims the author(s) make.
Actual Essay questions to be answered: Explore the ideal and reality of the Confucian precepts on women. Were the ideas (generally from the elite classes) practically applied in real life? Evaluating EBP Assignments
Many factors influence how successfully an evidence – based practice (EBP) Project is implemented and evaluated. Using a translation framework can facilitate effective implementation and the evaluation of outcomes.
As you complete Application 4, revisit the evidence-based practice model or framework you selected “Lack of Hand Washing in Providing Patient Care to Prevent Infection within a Long-term care facility” for your EBP Assignment (Application 2). How does the model or framework facilitate the evaluation of outcomes? Would another model or framework better meet the needs of your project?
To prepare for this Application 4:
• Continue to:
o Identify an appropriate method for evaluating your outcomes.
o Develop new practice guidelines based on the possible results of the evaluation.
o Create, if appropriate, new standards of care that would be based on the new practice guidelines.
Instructions for how to prepare:
To complete:
Write a 4- to 8-page paper that addresses the following:
Planning for Change
• Analyze the impact of implementing change in your practice environment, including the factors that need to be considered regarding stakeholders and end users.
• Summarize the methods you would use to ensure that those are adequately addressed.
Implementing EBP Assignments
• Identify the desired outcomes of your EBP Assignment.
• Describe any macro or micro systems issues that may inhibit implementation and strategies for resolving those issues.
• Explain how resolving your EBP Assignment issue will improve quality and patient safety.
Evaluating EBP Assignments
• Describe evaluation strategies.
• Formulate new practice guidelines based on the possible results of the evaluation of outcomes.
• Describe, if appropriate, new standards of care relevant to the new practice guidelines.

The Final Examination for this course is 10-page paper. Conduct research and evaluate in depth a particular biological, chemical, or explosive WMD incident in the United States and evaluate the tactical effectiveness of both the attacker and defender. Describe this incident and evaluate the danger. In addition, the student will determine how well the Incident Command System (ICS) was applied to that particular incident in order to determine if the response to the incident was effective. Also discuss if the current government programs effectively address that WMD danger. Finally, address ways in which the government could improve in addressing the threat.
