The purpose of your final paper is to show proficiency in identifying and communicating up-to-date information on a health topic of interest to you. You may choose any topic as long as it pertains to a health concern. It could be something covered in class, or something else completely different that you are interested in. Feel free to think outside the box. Please contact the professor if you have a question about the appropriateness of a topic.

The final paper should be written as the script of a presentation, as if you were teaching your fellow students about the topic. It should be written in your own words, in a way that illustrates a command of the material. Although it is to be written as a script, it is still to include proper paragraph and sentence structure, and proper grammar.

How you structure the paper is up to you, however, the following seems to be a reasonable approach to consider: What exactly is the health concern and what is known about it? What are risk factors associated with the health issue? What does the research say about how we can minimize risks or treat the health issue? What are other factors about this health issue that your colleagues should know? If applicable, why is this health issue important to you?
