The response should be clear and concise. You have a minimum of a single paragraph to write for each question; make it a great response. Reflect on the questions carefully and present a thoughtful response. Note that I’m asking for several things in each question.
Discussion Questions:
1. How do movies create an “illusion of reality”? How are movies made to be believable? Specifically, what goes into the process of making movies so that audiences (you!) believe them and want to keep watching?
2. What is a film’s pattern? How does pattern bring a film together? What’ are the differences between “explicit” , “implicit”, and “interpretive” meaning? How might our religious/faith perspective (or lack thereof) influence the way we see and interpret a movie? (Note: this last question is more of a reflection)
3. What is melodrama and what are its characteristics? How does the melodrama outlook compare with a biblical/Christian outlook? (Hint: pages 102-106)
