These are the instructions from the professor: “Compose a Thesis statement choosing one theorist over the other, giving a reasoned explanation as to why you have made this judgment.  Then analyze the concept of “history” and support and develop your main thesis idea with subordinate arguments addressing the following sub-sections: 1.Dialectical materialism or genealogical 2.Class struggle or cultural critique 3.Emancipation  Then, identify and address the main weakness in your thesis (the counter-argument) by finding the truth in the opposition.  Then, follow this up by countering the counter-argument, thus transcending and incorporating the opposing point within your own perspective/argument. Last, bring it all home with a strong conclusion.
