One Hundred Years of Solitude is written in a genre of fiction called “magical realism.” Please research magical realism and then explain some of the “realities” you discover in these first three chapters. Tell me the pages where you find them and how you see reality portrayed in those examples. Also make note of things in the novel which you can relate to the history, culture and/or the life of García Márquez.To begin, it is advised that students research the life of Gabriel García Márquez and the literary genre, “magical realism.” García Márquez is credited with creating magical realism. This is especially important in Latin America because One Hundred Years of Solitude was the first internationally acclaimed work of literature to come from Latin America. One Hundred Years of Solitude is a very important work of literature and in 1982, García Márquez won the Nobel Prize in Literature for this novel.I will be uploading the necessary pages for this assignment.
