Write a research paper where you agree or disagree with the following assertion: Social media negatively impacts students’ academic writing skills.

This research paper will use argumentation. This paper is not merely an informational report. You must take a stand or express an opinion (without saying, “I think,” “I feel,” “I believe,” or “In my opinion,”) and “prove” or support it with your own compelling ideas and your own research. (In other words, you’ll be arguing whether social media positively or negatively impacts students’ abilities to write formal college essays.)

Much of the information in your paper will come from other sources, but at the same time, you must state your own ideas. You must tie your research together by linking your researched information with your own opinions and reflections.

You will state this opinion in a thesis statement that is the last line of the first paragraph of this portion of your essay.

You may include paraphrased and quoted material (but try to paraphrase more than quote), but be sure to cite your sources to avoid plagiarism.

You are required to have three sources, with at least 2 peer-reviewed sources (the third can be a website.) Take advantage of Keiser University’s extensive library database.
