Write an analytical essay in which you explain how the author uses currents of utopian or dystopian thinking. Depending on the novel you choose, you may have to explain how and why the “utopia” has gone wrong. Remember that in a novel, you should pay close attention to setting, description, and characterization as well as plot and dialogue. It will be especially important for you to remember that this is an analytical essay, not a plot summary. You should think about organizing this essay according to ideas rather than plot. Outside research is not necessary, but you may use other resources if you wish.
