Write an argumentative research paper about Electric Cars.

Write an argumentative research paper that makes an argument about one of the topics from Project Drawdown (Links to an external site.), a nonprofit organization that researches and reviews climate solutions (Links to an external site.). Students from Bellevue College have been working across campus on projects to understand climate justice. In this course, you will research and write about the climate topic of your choice, taken from the list of climate solutions (Links to an external site.) provided by Project Drawdown. You’ll complete the following steps:Choose a topic from the Drawdown list of climate solutions (Links to an external site.). Read the information about the topic on the Drawdown website. If you want to learn more, do a google search and keep reading. Once you have a basic understanding of your topic, write a research question. Use your research question to start your deeper research of the topic. The research question will help you focus your research.Continue your research, reading and evaluating your sources. (During this step, you’ll complete a reading report of one of your sources, and an Annotated Bibliography.)Start to formulate an argumentative thesis based on your research. (You can do this by transforming your research question into a statement.) Make an outline to help you start drafting your essay. Complete a first draft and second draft.Turn in your final draft! Remember, your paper should have a clear, focused thesis statement that makes an argument. You might not know what that argument will be when you start researching. That’s okay! You might not know what you want to say, or what argument you want to make when you start this research project. However, the more reading you do and the further you go in your research, the more you will start to develop an idea of what you want to contribute to this conversation. What ideas do you have? What arguments have stuck with you? How can you build on what has already been said? This paper should be presented in MLA format with a Works Cited page. I want to see that you are utilizing sources in a variety of ways–quoting, summarizing, paraphrasing–and that you are distinguishing your ideas from those of your sources. I want to see that you are considering and addressing the opposing side as well as establishing the importance of your argument. I’m looking for papers that do not succumb to the dry, academic voice of a typical research paper, but instead develop a clear and engaged voice and style that shows your interest in the topic. On a Works Cited page, you’ll be required to show at least six sources, with at least three of these sources coming from scholarly journals. The Bellevue College Library Media Center (Links to an external site.) will be an invaluable resource as you begin this research project. You can access many materials through the online databases, however I encourage you to reach out to a librarian online if you need help. The BC librarians are a fountain of knowledge and can help to direct you to a variety of sources that you might not be aware of. A few tips:Spend a good amount of time reading and taking notes. Stay organized. Extend your research over a number of weeks. If you hit a wall, take a few days to read the sources you do have, then go back and try again. As you read, you’ll uncover new terms to search, which will lead you to new and better sources. Evaluate your sources carefully. Utilize the Library Media Center and the EBSCOHost database (Links to an external site.). (You will not be able to rely on Google for this project!) I expect strong, credible sources on your Works Cited page.
