Prepare a Memorandum about applying the balanced scorecard to a place where you currently work or have worked – identify key performance indicators in each of the 4 perspective

This strategic business plan project is to enable students connect all their learning in the course with the CESIM simulation and the application in the real world. The Project aims to engage students in learning activities where they will apply knowledge gained during the course, and in so doing, work to achieve the learning outcomes.
a) This is a group project report by maximum 5 members.
b) You are required to prepare a 10 to 15 page strategic business plan for your organization based on CESIM.
Project Overview
This is a group strategic plan paper based on the simulation and all activities in the class. The report should start in week 5 at the commencement of the simulation because it is expected that students will continue to work on the project and incorporate changes made to the decision based on various factors and environmental changes.
Your Team’s Task
Your team is in charge of all decisions made by your company in the simulation. You will use this project to reflect on all decisions made (previous years), and will make in subsequent years. Each week represent a year, it is therefore important you look at a long term plan using various changes your company will face in each market as well as the strategic moves made by your competitors. It is important you clearly articulate where you are now, where you are going and also how you intend to meet your vision as a company.
Your presentation should be broken into these sections:
A) Background Information
Company overview – Name and Logo, various products and their factures and specifications, and any other information you feel you need to provide. Please include your mission, vision and core values and key management staff and their responsibilities.
B) Current Situation and Trends
Detail information on the market, competition, macro and microenvironment, and trends, including size and growth rates for the overall market and any key segments. Industry analysis, target customers, competitive analysis and advantage
C) Key Issues and Objectives
SWOT analysis for the organization and state how you intend to build on your strength, identify and pursue your opportunities, minimize your threats and improve on your weakness. Please state 4 SMART objectives for 6 years. The objective should cover: marketing and sales, production, research and development, finance and accounting.
D) Marketing Strategies/Action Plans
Detail steps and actions your team will take to meet each of the objectives for the 6 years. This should include what you have done in previous years and your long term plan and strategy for coming years. Also include overall strategy and operational tactics for each year
E) Key Performance Indicator
Develop various ratios on total sales, ROI and Profit analysis, and other ratios necessary to explain your projections for 6 years
F) Financial Projections
Financial statements for each year
1. establish yourself as an expert on the topic in the introduction. To do this, give background information about the issue you chose in the introductory paragraph(s), so the reader has a well-rounded understanding of the issue. Answer who, what, when, where, why, and how of the topic. This information must introduce and connect to the thesis statement.
2. have a strong, clear thesis that directly answers the research question you have chosen. This one sentence informs the reader as to what they can expect from the entire essay, so it is essential that you answer the research question clearly.
3. include clear topic sentences at the beginning of each body paragraph that elegantly state the main point of the paragraph.
4. use transitions sentences (not just words) to create connections between the ideas in your essay’s paragraphs. Transition sentences helps your reader feel at ease with your writing and feel that there is a natural flow. To create a transition sentence, find a commonality with the idea from the paragraph above and the new idea you will introduce in the paragraph below to create the transition sentence. It is placed in the last sentence in the paragraph above (see the outline example).
5. argue the main points/claims that support your thesis statement. Support those claims with extensive evidence, proof of critical analysis and explanation of how each piece of evidence proves the claim and the thesis statement.
6. use at least 4 reliable sources to support your claim. (DO NOT use Wikipedia, or any other wiki because information can be changed by anyone. Wikis are an excellent jumping off point if you have absolutely no idea about the topic, but you should research and find original sources.)
7. include 1 refutation to prove you are a credible researcher. Take the lawyer approach and address 1 possible objection that the opposing side has by using a direct quotation from an expert on the opposing side and then arguing why your claim is right and their logic is wrong. Attack the words in the quote and tear the meaning apart, not the person. Follow the example from the refutation lecture and include all 6 steps. The refutation is its own paragraph, right before the conclusion.
8. conclude the argument by providing a very brief rewording (not copy and paste) of the thesis statement, providing final thoughts, and investigating the wider implications of the issue. This is your chance to provide the reader with closure on the topic and your final chance to convince them that your point of view is the right one. Take the opportunity seriously and use it to your advantage.
9. have a catchy, creative and relevant title that reflects the tone (feeling) of the essay.
10. have no spelling, grammar, or sentence structure errors in your essay.
11. write 4-6 complete pages. A complete written page goes all the way to the bottom. Don’t mess with the line spacing, margins, or font. That is just annoying.
1) Provide an overview of what infrastructure systems are, provide an example of an infrastructure system (a real one), and discuss why infrastructure risk analysis is important.
2) Summarize (though in some depth) what the main approaches are that are used for infrastructure risk analysis using examples from class where possible. This part should summarize the relative strengths and weaknesses of these approaches.
3) Give an example of at least one network for at least 6 nodes and 10 edges, teach the students how to calculate three of the key network parameters (nodal degree, betweenness, and path length), calculate them for this network, and discuss why it is important to know these characteristics. You cannot use the network shown in class for this portion of the assignment.
4) Try to convince the students that they should consider studying risk analysis for infrastructure as part of their undergraduate work at UM.

Sylvia Gaylord works as a legal aide on the 12th floor of a tall glass-and-steel monument to modem architectural technology. On clear days, the views are spectacular. They both run in the park every morning before work, and Sylvia rarely needs to use her inhaler. The problems start when she gets to work. The wheezing and coughing were so bad today that by the time she got up the elevator and into her cubicle, she could hardly breathe.
Last night, the cable news ran a story on the unhealthy air found in some buildings. They called it “sick building syndrome” and reported that certain employees developed allergic reactions just by breathing the air. “Hmmm,” she thought, “It seems like more and more people are getting sick in our office. John has had the flu twice. Sid’s bronchitis turned into bronchopneumonia, and Hui complains of sinusitis. Could this building have an air quality problem?”

1. Discuss which environmental factors might cause an asthma attack.
2. Discuss what Sylvia might do to find out if her building has an air quality problem.
3. What factors did Sylvia and Kelly consider as possible triggers for Sylvia’s frequent attack?
