Explain when it would be appropriate to use self-disclosure.

Watch the Parker video. In the video, the clients express hostility toward each other, as well as toward the social worker. In addition, Stephanie asks the social worker for self-disclosure when she asks, “Wouldn’t you?” and “You really think you can fix that?” The scene ends with the client and social worker falling into silence. Consider the challenges depicted in the video. How would you respond? Explain when it would be appropriate to use self-disclosure. Provide a specific example of the type of self-disclosure you might use in this scenario. Identify an interviewing technique you learned from this week’s resources that you would use when working with this client. Provide a specific example of the interviewing technique. For example, if you would use an empathetic statement or an open-ended question to elicit information, provide a specific example of the statement or question that you would use. Explain why you would use this technique.

Assignment: Ethics in Accounting.

Effective financial reporting depends on sound ethical behavior. Financial scandals in accounting and the businesses world have resulted in legislation to ensure adequate disclosures and honesty and integrity in financial reporting. A sound economy is contingent on truthful and reliable financial reporting. Instructions: Read the following scenario. Answer the questions that follow. This will be a 2-3 page submission in a question and answer format (also in paragraph form). An introduction and conclusion is not required. Refer back to your textbook for guidance on how to think through the scenario. You have been recently hired as an assistant controller for XYZ Industries, a large, publically held manufacturing company. Your immediate supervisor is the controller who also reports directly to the VP of Finance. The controller has assigned you the task of preparing the year-end adjusting entries.  In the receivables area, you have prepared an aging accounts receivable and have applied historical percentages to the balances of each of the age categories.  The analysis indicates that an appropriate estimated balance for the allowance for uncollectible accounts is $180,000.  The existing balance in the allowance account prior to any adjusting entry is a $20,000 credit balance. After showing your analysis to the controller, he tells you to change the aging category of a large account from over 120 days to current status and to prepare a new invoice to the customer with a revised date that agrees with the new category.  This will change the required allowance for uncollectible accounts from $180,000 to $135,000. Tactfully, you ask the controller for an explanation for the change and he tells you “We need the extra income, the bottom line is too low.” Required: In a 2-3 page paper, discuss the following: Consider what you have learned relative to ethics and financial reporting. What is the rationale for the calculations/process used to estimate the $180,000 uncollectible allowance? How do you think the misstatement of funds will impact the income statement and balance sheet? What is the ethical dilemma you face? What are the ethical considerations? Consider your options and responsibilities as assistant controller. Identify the key internal and external stakeholders. What are the negative impacts that can happen if you do not follow the instructions of your supervisor? What are the potential consequences if you do comply with your supervisor’s instructions? Who will be negatively impacted? Additional Requirements: Use at least one (1) quality academic resource (in addition to your textbook) for this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and similar websites do not qualify as academic resources. You have access to Strayer University’s Online Library at https://research.strayer.edu and the iCampus University Library Research page at https://icampus.strayer.edu/library/research. Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements: Your paper should be double spaced (Arial or Times Roman 12 pt font) and follow general Strayer Writing Standards (SWS) as they relate to references and citations. Please take a moment to review the SWS documentation for details (more information and an example is included in the Strayer Writing Standards menu link located in your Blackboard). Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

In the context of the period 1757 to 1876, assess the validity of the view that British rule in India was based on economic exploitation.

The Non-Examined Assessment is an independent piece of work. It is an essay of around 3500-4500 words that you independently research and write up. It needs to cover a period of 100 years and will be on British rule in c18th and c19th India.  Questions: 2.     In the context of the period 1757-1876, assess the validity of the view that British rule in India was based on economic exploitation. Requirements: Your answer needs to show an awareness of change and continuity over the 100 year period in your question. The components of the essay are: 1.     20 out of 40 marks are for knowledge – so the basis of it is just a good historical essay which gives a well evidenced and justified answer to the chosen question 2.     10 out of 40 marks are on sources – you need to include three contemporary sources which demonstrate views from the time. These need to be evaluated 3.     10 out of 40 marks are for interpretations – what two historians have argued about your chosen topic. You need to show an understanding of historical debate on your topic and reference these views throughout your essay. These also need to be evaluated 4.     Your work needs to be fully referenced and include a bibliography   Additional guidance on interpretations: You must provide explicit analysis and evaluation of two differing interpretations by academic historians. It is not expected that absolutely opposing interpretations are selected, and they may, in any case, be difficult to find. Much of the difference between interpretations may in fact be quite subtle. The interpretations selected may focus on one part of the 100-year context, or may consider the period as a whole.   Students must demonstrate an understanding of the ways in which the context in which the historians were writing may have influenced the interpretation. In addition to evaluating the differences between the interpretations, students must also explain the significance of the time and/or context in which the historians were writing. There is no need for the interpretations to have been written in different times and/or contexts, but students should be able to comment upon these aspects.   Additional guidance on sources: At least three primary sources and/or sources contemporary to the period should be established. In addition, two of these sources must be of different types. Consider content, context, value, reliability, tone etc

Discuss Forensic Psychology.

This assignment will consist of a literature review on a forensic psychology topic of your choice. A list of general topics follows. These may be useful to assist in developing a more specific sub-topic. Other topics may be approved after discussion of their suitability with your lecturer.  Effects of imprisonment on offending The effectiveness of diversion programs Links between intoxication and offending behaviour Psychopathy Sexual offender treatment program efficacy Juvenile offending in Australia/Singapore Offender profiling Reducing offending rates within minority communities  Detection of malingering  Police interrogation technique efficacy False confessions Lie detectors efficacy The reliability of children’s eyewitness testimony  Jury decision making  Miscarriages of justice  The literature review should include a synthesis of the ideas and details from at least 10 key studies in the respective field. The required word length for the literature review is 1,500 words (plus or minus 10%), which excludes the reference list. Provide a word count on the assignment.  References must be provided using the APA style conventions (7th ed). Incorrect use of APA referencing conventions will reduce the mark allocated.  An appreciation of the task of writing a literature review in psychology is important (e.g., a literature review includes a critical element). For many students this may be the first opportunity to undertake a literature review so care needs to be given to understand the requirements. Various guides to writing a literature review in psychology can be found with appropriate searching.
