How will members of civil society respond to your proposal? I

Instructions
You are representing the United States as part of a working Committee convened to examine the issue of Globalization. Your first order of business is to propose the top three areas for consideration by the committee. Because not all countries share the same priorities, you must defend your proposals and persuade the Committee of the importance of addressing your issues above others. In doing so, you are particularly aware that you are representing the Global North and representatives from the Global South are also on the Committee. Once the Committee agrees to examine your issues, you should propose solutions to the problems you have identified. You must back-up your solutions using theories of globalization by the respected authors you have read on the subject. After your solutions are developed, you meet with members of civil society to present your solutions. Academic leaders, representatives from non-governmental organizations, international representatives, and business leaders will provide you with feedback.
Your double-spaced paper will address the following issues:
• What are the top three areas you believe the Committee should address?
• Why do these issues merit attention compared to other major issues?
• What are the solutions you propose?
• How will members of civil society respond to your proposal? Include at least one reaction likely from a representative of the Global North and one reaction likely from a representative of the Global South, describing the distinct impact your proposals will likely have on each region.
MAKE CERTAIN YOU ANSWER THE QUESTIONS… Don’t ignore them or try to make them into some other question. Not answering the question is the leading cause of failing grades.

• Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.
• Students will follow the current Turabian Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.
• Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.
Assignment 3
Instructions
This assignment is an essay assignment of three questions to test knowledge and assimilation of the course objectives. You may use any of the texts, readings from this course and outside material that is academic in nature.
Question 1: For your exam find 3 major end items (A major end item is a final combination of end products which is ready to use) in your local Wal-Mart that are from the US (food excluded). What do the 3 items say about the state of globalization and American productivity and long term economic base? (For those without access, you can use the Wal-Mart website but should be for a store in your home area. State in your question if you went to the store or used the web site).
Question 2: Upon the sad death of Putin, gored and trampled by a moose while hunting, the Russian oligarchs ask you to serve as a caretaker head (one of your former classmates was a well-heeled oligarch). As long as you protect their economic interests, you have much latitude. What are the 3 actions you take to revitalize Russia and move into a position where it can leverage globalization to its greatest impact?
Question 3: It is the year 2040. India has run out of room for its exponentially growing population. Can Globalization fix the problem or is war with its neighbors inevitable as it seeks more space and resources to support the population? Be sure to address how China is involved in this inevitable conflict.

Read Chapters 5-7

Based on your reading for Chapter 5-7, respond to the following:

1. A literature review is an essay that synthesizes studies on a specific topic. A literature review is NOT a string of one study after another, or paragraph after paragraph of quotes. Rather, the writer synthesizes the research so that the reader can understand previous research on the topic. Why is the literature review important for researchers and practitioners. What is a “gap in the literature”? Second, describe how authors use literature in their quantitative research studies. You need an APA citation for your post.

2. What do you feel is the most important reason for a literature review? Why do you feel this way?
