Assignment Content As you do your research about CAM, it is vital to establish what information is credible and reliable. By the time you complete this assignment you should have made some decisions about the credibility and reliability of information related to CAM. Create an 8- to 10-slide presentation (Microsoft® PowerPoint®, Prezi, etc.) that provides guidance for assessing credibility and reliability of an online source about CAM information. Ensure you: Describe how a consumer’s attitudes and beliefs about CAM could affect the assessment of reliability and credibility of source information about CAM. Create five objective criteria to evaluate the credibility and reliability of a source of information on CAM. Discuss how you arrived at each criterion and how it can help assess reliability of source information. Select a CAM therapy or modality different from the one you selected in Week 1, and do research for information about this therapy or modality. Using the five objective criteria you created above, provide a review on one of the websites you found in your search and evaluate the reliability and credibility of the information it presents on CAM. Ensure you: Explain how the website met or did not meet each of the criterion you created. Describe steps the website could take to increase its credibility, if necessary. Include detailed speaker notes and reference citations formatted according to APA guidelines. Present the Assessing Reliability and Credibility of CAM Resources Presentation according to your campus enrollment listed below: For Local Campus students: an oral presentation accompanied by a visual presentation (at the discretion of faculty) For Online and Directed Study students: a visual presentation with a speaker notes document

For your research paper in this course, you will write an analytical research paper addressing a major issue of your choosing from among the topics covered in this course. As a research paper, your paper will have to answer a significant puzzle related to a course topic. The length of the paper should be at least fifteen (15) pages in length. Be sure to include your reference list and to properly cite sources in APA throughout your paper. Your title and reference page are not counted in the minimum page length. Title Page of the Paper: The title of your paper should be brief but should adequately inform the reader of your general topic and the specific focus of your research. Keywords relating to parameters, population, and other specifics are useful. The Title Page must include the title, name, course name and number, and Professor’s Name. Introduction, Research Question, and Hypothesis: This section shall provide an overview of the topic that you are writing about, a concise synopsis of the issues, and why the topic presents a “puzzle” that prompts your research questions, which you will include. This section will end your introduction with your research question. Review of the Literature: All research projects include a literature review to set out for the reader what knowledge exists on the subject under study and helps the researcher develop the research strategy to use in the study. A good literature review is a thoughtful study of what has been written, a summary of the arguments that exist (whether you agree with them or not), arranged thematically. At the end of the summary, there should still be gaps in the literature that you intend to fill with your research. As a literature review, this section should identify the common themes and theories that the prior research identified. In this section, what you do is look at the conclusions of prior research and identify what the common themes are you see in those conclusions. You then identify those themes. Methodology and Research Strategy: This section provides the reader with a description of how you carried out your qualitative research project, and the variables you identified and analyzed. It describes any special considerations and defines any limitations and terms specific to this project, if necessary. This section can be brief or more complicated, depending on the project. NOTE: Human subjects should NOT be used as part of your methodology and research strategy. Analysis and Findings: are not the same as conclusions. In the analysis component of this section you identify how you analyzed the data. The second part is the finding you got from your analysis of the data. The findings are the facts that you developed, not your interpretation of the facts. That interpretation is conducted in the conclusions and recommendations section of the paper. Findings will come from the prior research you examined and your analysis of those prior findings to create new findings for your paper. While there may be some facts that are such that they will stand and translate to your paper, the intent is to create new knowledge, so you will normally analyze the data to create your own findings of what facts that data represents. Conclusions and Recommendations: is the section where you give your interpretation of the data. Here you tell the reader what the findings mean. Often the conclusions and recommendations sections will mirror the findings in construct as the researcher tells the reader what that researcher sees as the meaning of that data, their conclusions. Then, drawing on those conclusions, the researcher tells the reader what they believe needs to be done to solve/answer the research question. This section may include recognition of any needs for further research and then finishes with a traditional conclusion to the paper as a whole. Remember, your paper should seek to answer a question that helps to solve the research puzzle you identified.
Instructions Radiation Safety Report The executives at Acme Manufacturing Co. were impressed by your first report, and they have asked you and BSCI to return for more work. BSCI has been contracted by Acme Manufacturing Co. to conduct a study to determine employee exposures to radiation. In addition, your company has been contracted to determine the effectiveness of engineering controls, including shielding. After conducting a field assessment, prepare a written report for Bob Sanders (CSP) to present to the Board of Directors. During your field investigation, you find the following field observations: Test Equipment and Repair Facility The company has an on-site test equipment and repair facility. Much of the test equipment contains a radiation source. Normal practice inside the facility is to limit the time of exposure of employees working on this equipment as a method of control. However, the company is looking at the possibility of installing lead shields or increasing the distance from the source, thus increasing employee time working on equipment. Based on the following information determine the employee’s exposure: LocationEmployeeDistance (Initial)Distance (Proposed)Intensity (Initial)Intensity at proposed distance Bench #3Rita Ray D’Ashun0.5 ft.2 ft.110 mrem/hUnknown Bench #5Robert Long1 ft.3 ft.137 mrem/hUnknown Bench #6Paul Row0.75 ft.1.5 ft.102 mrem/hUnknown Based on this information, determine the employee’s actual exposure rate to the radiation source. Show your work (either in the report or as an appendix).
Responses to questions should be brief (8-10 sentences, articulated in student’s own words). Responses should be clear, to the point and quality graduate level writing. For examples would need to do some internet research, and a link included.
