ADULT ED AND TRAINING – TRAINING MANUAL PROJECT CONTRACT In the final course EDU 624, candidates specializing in Adult Education and Training will be designing and creating a complete TRAINING MANUAL for a brand new subject.  A training manual is like a textbook to learn a skill.  It works independently with no classroom to help a learner master a particular skill or knowledge set.  The manual must, at a minimum, include the following elements:   a.  Company process, policy standards, or research study that demonstrates the need for this manual b.  learning outcomes/objectives in ABCD format, at least 2-4 terminal course objectives for the manual and 2 enabling objectives for each unit. c.  materials for at least 4 units 1. Content materials originally created by the candidate (i.e. books, workbooks, practice sheets, presentation materials)             2. Detailed description of the content             3. Methods of practice for the learner addressing multiple learning modalities             4. Nine steps of instruction components within the design of activities   d.  assessments and answer keys to show mastery of each objective e. design evaluation of the project showing how and what data to collect and setting at least 2 objectives to be met to show success of the manual.   Before submitting your topic idea be sure to verify that there are suitable topics to present on this subject matter to provide a minimum of 4 units of instruction to meet and at least 2 objectives to be mastered in each unit. The TRAINING MANUAL must contain a minimum of four units and maximum of ten units.  Format and overall look is at the discretion of the candidate but must be done in Microsoft Word.  The project must be original work, created and completed by the candidate during the EDU 624 class session, and reflect mastery of specialization skill sets. The final product format is at the discretion of the student but must reflect completeness, professionalism, and mastery of curriculum design.  It will be due as the final IP project for this class and will be worth a maximum of 500 points. This is your culminating project experience that must reflect all facets of your M.Ed. journey. On average, successful projects have ranged in length from 20 to 30 pages to accommodate the expected depth appropriate to reflect mastery.   Refer to your Specialization courses and resources for training model specifics. What aspect of the experience will stick with you?

This essay is a personal reflection of my experience in finding wildness. -The following is the requirements that were needed for this essay:    After you take your excursion, you will develop an essay that reflects on your experience of looking for wildness close to home. While your essay should describe the details of your experience, it should go beyond simply summarizing what you did. Helping to put us there with you through descriptive detail is important, but your essay should also reflect on the experience itself. In other words: don’t just tell us what you did; make sure to show us what you learned or took from the experience of seeking out wildness close to home. Consider the following prompts. You don’t need to answer all of these questions, but they can help you begin to think about how you want to frame your essay: What was it like for you to try and find wildness close to home? What was the most memorable observation you made? What aspect of the experience will stick with you? Did anything lead you to a new perspective on nature, wilderness, wildness, and your relationship to it? Did you tap into one of your senses that you don’t typically take note of? Did you find satisfaction in connecting with wildness close to home, on a smaller scale, or do you feel like you must go farther away into the wilderness to have a “truer” experience?  As you reflect on your experience, what is the main takeaway or point you would like to convey? What central idea structures the essay? This central idea serves as the thesis of your personal essay. It doesn’t have to be epic and profound; it simply needs to be a statement of the governing idea that shapes your essay. -I’m looking for more descriptive words to describe my experience.

Write an essay in which you argue your position on the issue of using public shaming as a punishment.  Is public shaming appropriate for some or all offenses that would otherwise result in a short jail term? Explain. Support your argument with evidence from Kahan’s essay, Shame Is Worth a Try Tangney’s essay, Condemn the Crime, Not the Person and your experiences and observations.

Despite revisions, the purposes of the DSM have stayed the same. According to the preface, the first purpose of the DSM is to provide a guide for treatment by facilitating an accurate diagnosis. Other goals include facilitating research, improving communication, collecting clinical information, and serving as an educational tool.In your paper describe each purpose and give an example of how the DSM is used for that purpose in your current work environment or in a future role to which you aspire. Comment on how understanding the DSM (or this course) will help you be more successful as professional in the future.  Remember to include an introductory paragraph that helps prepare the reader for what you will be writing about in your paper.
